Sords' stuff is heavy duty kick ass stuff. I've seen some first hand and it's really well made. I may go with one of there chest rig front/back set-ups. They also have 7.62 mag pouches as well, wich I need for my SCAR H.

Om nom nom nom A-TACS =)

Been smitten by the scheme since my local surplus store got a bunch of the Proper stuff in stock. Only thing that held me off buying a set was the quality of the stitching. I'm no foreigner to poor craftsmanship (my issued Cadpat is always faling apart), but some of the seams looked really weak. I've been eying TPC clothing and Firewalker's review has pushed me towards them.

On a side note: Good news! Tactical Taylor will be doing up gear in A-TACS now.

I can't vouch for every item, but my pants are holding up well. I was waiting for this combat shirt since I saw the SHOT Show article.

My review of the propper pants will be coming soon, stitching is shit. I may sell mine and buy sord pants.

I'm a stickler for details when it comes to build quality. I had to add bartacks to my acu pants after some pocket blowouts.

I did a paint job for a guy here locally, its a dark (more woodland color) ATACS camo. I think it turned out pretty well.

Follow the link to see the pics of the project from beginning to end with all the boring stuff left out. It was in pretty nasty shape when I got it.

I'd leave more tan next time (unless that's what the woodland variation will look like, heh psychic paint!), but it's pretty damn close I have to say.

Yeah the original plan I had called for it to be a lot lighter but when I took it outside and tested it in the local field we use it stood out like a sore thumb because it was so much lighter. So darkening it up, this thing blends incredibly well into the greenery and shrubs that you'd use as cover as a sniper.

Combination of the two techniques. I did the majority with sponge work and went over to do up some details with the airbrush. Had to do the scope almost completely with the airbrush.

Thanks I've been doing custom paint for a while now for guys in Edmonton and local areas. I've gotta say that ATACS is one of my fav styles to do.

If you do another one, could you upload step by step photos or a video? I'm not sure of how to layer the paint properly.

I'd rather just do it for you since it is my side-job and all but a general rule of thumb is start lightest and work your way darker. With the ATACS here it takes more than one layer though since everything has to seem like it overlaps. The process for this one (with a fine sanding between each layer) was grey primer, tan, od, coyote brown, tan, brown then od with some individual spots with tan and brown once again afterwards. Followed by multiple thin layers of matte clear coat.

Whatever color you put on last will be the most dominant color for the most part, so since I needed this one to be done in woodland I made sure to have OD green be the last full layer. Hope that helps.
