The legislation completed reading and vote Sunday afternoon, and was passed up to the Senate for approval. After that, it becomes law once given Royal Assent. Likely early Monday morning. Mail will likely restart delivery on Tuesday.
Senate approved it already it's now going to the GG for the final rubber stamp.

Yes but when you ask for 3% every year, that works out to be a lot of money. Most people are lucky to get 1% raises and therefore the salary overtime gets to be extraordinary.

That 3% is also not to mention the bigger pension they are receiving. There are some unionized workers making more money in pensions than a working man/women in the private sector (doing the same amount of work).

You realize there is a such thing as private sector unions, right?

You understand that the private sector unions don't keep the population of a country in hostage (like CP post union)? Just their employers... RIGHT?

This is what I meant. Privatized unions do not affect an entire population. Not 100% sure on this but I would think that is why public unions seem to be entitled to whatever they want.

CP isn't Government. It's a federal agency.. not the same thing.

Just trying to quell some of the mass amounts of anti-government rhetoric around here.

Like I said, I hate unions as much as the next guy... but seriously, if airline unions were to go on strike, for example (which they have in the past) it would hurt one hell of a lot more than CUPW.

I now it's a agency but it's country wide and the basic postal service that almost everyones count on...

Yeah the airlines might but CP strike is-was hurting small businesses as much.
They already have better pay, pension plan, and overall conditions (sick leave etc...) than the private sector.
The thing the unions didn't want was lower base salary for new employees... Because it was hurting their coffer (almost 400$ per employee a year.)
