One VX-3R received and by reading the manual didn't give me much since it isn't even say 6.25kHz in stepping in manual. Instead I noticed it when programming another channel!
So how about this, the radio IS SUPPORTING 6.25kHz (PMR)!!!

For those who are interested in these I need to know quite soon because new batch of Spartan MBITR shells will be available in late July. So before that I need to know how many that are interested in these.
I will hopefully order 2 or 3 extra but if more are interested I'd need to know that before ordering. I'll wait for your PM doc.

Received the U-183 plugs today and the antenna connector+cable!
Small update now until Spartan MBITR shells arrive! This is how it'll look. Only thing missing now is the cables from the U-183 plug down to the radio. It'll be fixed later this week! IGNORE THE EXTREMELY FUXXED LOOKING TOY SOLDIER SHELL OMG! The plug is cannot be mounted properly in this shell due to the size is so wrong. Everything will look and get mounted a lot better in the Spartan MBITR, don't worry!

I will try to clear out some questions that has followed during the journey...
It will be available in different types. ACM or Nexus U94 PTT modified for china headsets or real ones. Can be bought with ACM or Sonetronics H250 handset. Can be bought with ACM Sordins, TASC-1 or Comtacs I or II too. It can be bought with a real Thales VHF 136-174Mhz antenna (very limited available) or/and internal antenna (orginal Yaesu antenna) for both UHF and VHF and use replica Spartan Thales Broadband antenna on outside. Only U-183 connector, no Maritime. Radio is programmable in field (no keypad, only wheel) or can be programmed when bought for PMR, SRBR, GMRS, FRS or what ever you use. Extra battery can be ordered if you need more than one 1100mAh 3.7V. Uhrm not sure if I have forget anything... please ask in thread if I have forget anything.

Uptime time!
Everything working. Sending and receiving sound works perfectly and it looks really good in my opinion! Remeber this is a prototype. Going to improve as much as I can when the Spartan arrives looking and quality vise! But damn it's nice to use U-plugs intead of Kenwood and Yaesu plugs and full size radio!

Aprox price is 400 USD including shipping. When I'm 100% done I will give a exact price because cables and such need to be bought too in good quality before I can make more for you guys.
It can be bought with replica PTT to reduce the price a bit.

If you think 400 USD for these things are too high then don't comment. The radio itself is 190 USD at cheapest, Spartan shell is 60 USD and Nexus PTT is 50 USD. That's just 300 USD without connectors, work and shipping.
Don't forget that this radio is a dual band radio. You won't need a dual headset or two radios using this radio since it handles both VHF and UHF. You of all people should know that having the best things costs lots...? So please no such comments.

One Spartan shell arrived from a dear friend in Austria.
Yesterday I thought, finally I got the Spartan shell and now it's time to wait so that I can order the Yeasu VX-3R. After some thinking I thought, my 7R must fit with some modifications. So I started to do some modifications and after aprox an hour or two it does fit! So now my project is almost done, only some small things left. So this is my working AN/PRC-148 with real Thales Broadband antenna (90-512Mhz), real Thales Whip antenna (30-88Mhz), real U plugs, Nexux U94 PTT and optional Davies TASC-1, Sonetronics H-250 handset or MSA Sordin Dual headset and it works as a real MBITR as well (30-512Mhz) some with exceptions. If you have any further questions please ask.

Small update. Missing the cable with the 3.5mm cable down to the radio.
The small details such as the little tiny opening on the upper part is caused by the U183 connector, will be fixed also. Have just done the "hard work".
