well i ordered one last night. Sounds like quality really varies. (broken buttons, broken elevation, trademarks) I plan to use mine in a dark laser tag arena ( only indoor airsoft we got in town).
So did it take 2 weeks total? from ordering to recieving? Last edited by xopher; April 27th, 2010 at 11:36.. |

Hm; mine was clean. I'd use Q-tips with a lens cleaning solution (IIRC they're actually 99% isopropanol), followed by buffing with a lens cloth to remove streaks. Be gentle, I don't know how soft the EoTech's lens coating is. All the cleaning bits can be found at any decent camera shop. I've been using the same little bottle of Olympus-brand cleaning solution on cameras & scopes for years; works great.

Time for my review!!!!
So its been about 2 weeks since I got it. When it arrived, it came in a very nice package from dealextreme. From ordering date (april 5) it took less than 2 weeks to come in. I got it on the 16th or something. Now to the product it self. When you open the box, you get a basic manual, an allan key, a lens cleaner, some china batteries that say 555 on them...., the clone sight, and some lens covers. As soon as I picked up the sight, i was impressed. The hood was aluminum with nice trades. The mount was metal, and the battery cover latch is metal. Everything else is rubberized plasic. The plasic is very durable though. The rubberized plasic does get marked up quite fast. The way it mounts to your rails is that their is this peice attached to the mounting screw, that slides along a track. The more you twist the screw clockwise, the closer this piece comes in. The threads seem very strong and you can tighten it without worries. To get the batteries in, you open the battery latch, and pull out and up on the cover. It requires 2 AA batteries. To get it installed, you do the opposite. Push down and in, and close the battery latch. The construction of the battery latch seems very solid. The to turn it on, you press the up or down arrow. To switch the reticule colour, you hit the NV button in the middle. To turn in off, press both of the arrow keys together. The buttons are rubber, and dont feel right when you press them. The ghosting is not bad, but when its dark, its realllly bad. The lenses are pretty reflective, and do not seem to be coated. Their are 20 levels of brightness for each colour. The variation in each adjustment is very unnoticeable, until you reach higher brightness. For me, it does not seem that the brightest level is bright enough for red and green. As for adjusting the eotech, the windage works fine, but the elivation is a bit finicky. I have got mine sighted in quite good. The reticule is a circle with 3 dots in the middle. I really like it. The lens covers are okay, nothing special, and need some modifing. Pics and more info soon..

Checking back through some of the earlier posts...someone mentioned that the EoTech has parallax issues. Can anyone else confirm/negate this claim? That would be annoying if it did

If you just ordered today you've got no chance.
DeX shipping is free because its pretty terrible time-wise. They spend usually 5 days before they even get the item to HK post, which takes foreverrrrrr a couple other members reported 20-30 days for shipping. You can be lucky, however. I've ordered before and it took 20 days to my door. But i ordered an EoTech as well on the 21st and its already arrived in New York (I'm in the US, obviously) I'm planning on putting up an in-depth review when i get it.

HK post does not take forever, it's much faster than CP or USPS. Of course I live in Vancouver and my HK post orders are here at customs in a day or two. |

I just recieved mine today and HOLY ITS WONDERFUL!
However, im having a little trouble putting it back together. I removed the hood to install the lens cover but now i have an extra black ring. Where does it go? Im guessing it goes with the tightening screw but im not too sure. Also, when im having trouble putting it back on the rails. Didnt have any problem until i took the thing apart. help? |

Just got mine in the mail. Picked it up for CQB because I didn't want my RS optics to get shot out.
Pro's: Pretty damn impressed for $37 -- it's far more solid than I was expecting. Has good heft to it. Con's Dot - Kinda sucks in sunlight (but I have yet to install the lens protector shade). Other than that it's good and the adjustment knobs do work. (Moves reticle instead of POI tho). Trades - It didn't come with the eotech logo on the battery cover. and reads "MLITARY use only". Shipping time - took 5 weeks to get here, I think because they were out of stock when I ordered. Verdict: Don't think just do. I would order more. |

Hello all,
Im not a Canadian resident but I felt that this particular information belonged here anyway, I recently purchased one of these Eotech replicas from DX as well and someone in this thread wrote earlier how he got ripped off with the customs Theres an easy explanation for that, It seems DX wrote down the value of the parcel in the HKD currency rather than the default USD, It's not easy to spot so a customs officer is likely to mistakenly interpret the value as US Dollars hence the mistake. I will post pics if necessary . Oh, and I also wrote a small review of my unit I received here: http://blog.winsbydefault.com/2010/0...ch-552-review/ - X |
