Will these killflashes fit in a standard RDS?
I'm looking for something to protect RDS lenses from shattering from BBs.
Will these killflashes fit in a standard aimpoint style RDS? I sold my aimpoint clone but I have another off-brand clone and it's the standard size I believe. http://www.ebairsoft.com/scope-kill-...mm-p-2317.html I know there is a G&P version for G&P aimpoints with threads on it but the off-brand RDS I have (some Japanese thing) doesn't have the threads for it to screw into.

Make your own by gluing soda straws together. Works well, just a bit time consuming. One thing though, a kill flash in a low power zoom (or worse, 1x) scope will likely really hinder your view through it. I put one in my 1x RDS and found it toally unusable, but worked great in my 3-9x40 scopes.

I heard that killflashes don't reduce your view or eye-relief but only darken the image (which has the side effect of helping you to see the red dot on cheaper scopes in bright light).
That made sense as the honeycomb is just designed to stop light from coming in from angles but allows light from straight ahead in. Did it really block your vision that much in a 1x scope? Or maybe it was just your homemade one?

Was my home made one, could have been too thick (around 3/8"), but that has been my experience anyways, just wanted to give you a heads up. And don't worry too much about getting your scope shot out, I run the same RDS on both my MP5s, never have I had a lense shatter, even though they've gotten hit before. Even taken rounds up the tube of my rifle scope, only to find the BBs themselves shattered.

I've seen everything from ACOGs to Eotechs completely shattered many, many times last year.

Yup, I don't run unprotected optics anymore. Too paranoid about it. I've seen about one optic shot out per every 10 games.
I'm trying to figure out how to protect flashlights now too. Does anyone know if those IR filter caps are decent protection?

I run a kill on my elcan, custom protectors on my eotechs and i havent yet but (should) get one for my aimpoint. I havent gotten one for any rifle optics yet.
Ive seen many optics saved from killflashes, Scooby's aimpoint killflash had a round imbedded in it last year lol. Ive been hit in the scope quite a few times, i dont like taking chances
