Looking for a nice holster that I'll never use.
Putting together a Bug Out Bag for my home. I get to buy lots of cool stuff that will 99.99% certainly never see the light of day.
I need a holster that will fit a glock 17 equipped with a Streamlight TLR-3 taclight. Preferably a high riding hip model but would live with a crossdraw or even a drop-leg. Anyone know of such a holster? |

to answer this
requires some more details
first off how exactly are you bugging out? do you plan to use a bug out vehicle? are you heading out on foot? are you going into the woods? do you already have a bug out location like a cabin or something set up? where will you be going when TSHTF? what scenario are your preparing for exactly? is the bug out going to be long term or short term? is your BOB a duffel, a ruck, manpurse, web gear etc each one has pros and cons in regards to a holster you will need to figure out what YOU NEED not what somebody on a forum says looks cool or is good or not good etc research your needs if you think you might end up on a 2 week foot march thru the ontario woodland maybe a drop leg carry isnt the best idea the gear has to be built around your needs my bug out plan is probably gonna be miles different from yours we all have unique needs heres a small collection of youtube users that have videos on bugging out, bug out gear, survivalism and other topics these may help you in deciding on gear as well as learn some of the philosophy some of the folks are pretty switched on and some seem to want to live out red dawn fantasies and theres nothing wrong with that just take bits and pieces from every video you watch and every article you read and then mold the info to suit your needs and your bug out theres tons more videos and websites these are the ones that i use currently if it helps Danboone talks about holster carry in one of his bug out videos as does road warrior http://www.youtube.com/user/beast12101 http://www.youtube.com/user/danboone143 http://www.youtube.com/user/delta69alpha http://www.youtube.com/user/survivalistboards http://www.youtube.com/user/theroadwarri0r here is a website that was actually built for private militia groups in the US now red dawn fantasies aside there is allot of bug out information that i found to be useful in researching kit http://civiliandefenseforce.com/training.html bug out/bug in gear is not just a matter of filling a bag and that you "are certain you will never use" its filling the bag training with the gear and being prepared to use it at a moments notice i guess i didnt really give ya what you wanted but i hope i managed to help you out anyway stay frosty and stay prepared Bowers |
