Madbull Propane Adaptor.

Hey all,
I just ordered one from Airsoftparts and forgot to order silicone oil. Can anyone recommend a good silicone oil I can get from crappy tire or homie depot or something? I saw this at home hardware but I suspect its not the right thing.

http://www.homehardware.ca/Products/...licone_hd_311g

If all else fails, ill have to buy it from them again and impulse buy some other stuff to make it worthwile but i'd rather not.

Thanks all.

if you just placed your order, try sending Jugglez a PM and see if he can add it to your order.

the Gunk silly oil might be ok as long as it is 100% silicone

For heavier weight silicon oil, try a hobby shop.

Go to your local hobby store and buy some silicone oil, usually sold as RC Shock Oil or something similar. Just make sure it's 100% silicone oil, and a lower weight.

Aim for 10wt (usually the lowest you can buy at hobby stores). My local hobby store didn't have 10wt when I went so I bought 25wt, and it still works fine just a little thicker.

Go to Advance Hobbies at Midland and Sheppard, they sell 10wt Shock Oil, which is perfect for GBB's

Sounds like you already have a solution, but here are two other solutions (in a very TokyoSeven style).

What you're looking for his nearly 100% pure Dimethicone to not eat your parts, some of the older silicone oils and greases can actually eat silicone parts; hence why alot of the old timers and gun docs use the expensive, made for airsoft only greases/oils. But, there are alot of products out there now that are safe to use.

You can use alot of 'hair serums' (it's dimethicone to put in hair for styling, so your hop-up or GBB may smell like flowers) or internal safe/toy-safe silicone sex lubes.

I've used a variety of products for grease/oil in AEG's, GBBs, propane for filling GBB mags; never had a problem, but I also was very careful knowing what I put into the airsoft parts.

So i got everything i needed and tried it out today. I inverted it and the mag, pressed together and all went well... until i released. When i removed the tip from the mag the adaptor began to leak the propane out till i unscrewed it or it sorta slowed by itself. Am i doing it wrong?

i use sewing machine oil as well (those big sewing machines , not the 200$ ones). They seem to be a bit heavier but seems alright for airsoft.

Did you push it too strong? You might have pushed the pin of the valve too deep so it's like kinda stuck there so it's leaking.....

Look up more info (Coleman Propane can warning)...posted by MadMax.

There are issues with some green cans that the top seal (white) on the can is pushed too far down and crushing the oring below it. This causes the o-ring to pinch/grab the insert of the adapater too hard, holding it down when you remove the mag when filling.

There are some mechanical fixes. MadMax won't say how (liability reasons)...but Colin_S' blog (Google Colin Sun Blog) describes it with some pics I think (or at least used to...this info is about a year+ old).

Anyways...that's my guess as to what's happening.

I had that problem for a bit. But if I take the extra couple seconds to get a nice seal with the mag slowly and don't push too hard it doesn't spew out like that.
