Battery Connectors & Wiring

'Lo, I'm ordering a large type battery for an AEG (CA M15A4 SPC) through CheapBatteryPacks.com. I'm just curious as to what connector and wiring I should be ordering for it. Right now I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to get a female Deans, but I don't know for certain. Furthermore, does the wiring really matter? Standard seems to ship with 16 AWG (I admittedly have no clue what that means), but I read somewhere on the forums about getting 14 AWG installed instead.

Thanks for any help in advance.

AWG stands for American Wire Gauge (size) if you run higher currents trough it getting a bigger wire would be nice, but since a 16 gauge could take 10 Amperes, and your battery discharges maybe 5000 MILI Amps Hour with the elite cell's i dont really see the point and they would be way more flexible, i'm an electrician, would be all fine.

Ah, alrighty. So the gauge size really doesn't really matter, I suppose. I'll have them put the 14 AWG in for the flexibility, I suppose. Thanks for the help, Johjoh.

Does anyone know about the connectors, though? I've done some more searching, but still haven't come up with anything.

Well, unless you're planning on changing the connector already installed on the guns, get the one that matches the one you already have installed.

I suppose I'll need to figure out what is actually in the thing, then. I was more pondering if there was a standard type of connector for the CA series (or airsoft guns in general), though I suppose not.

Thanks again!

Annnnnd that's what they would've shipped me anyway. D'oh. Well, I suppose I wouldn't be a newbie if I didn't spend half my time doing stupid things.

Thanks yet again.
