Wanted to Show Off somewhere
Got me a new KJW Glock 23 and G&G CAS Version M4 with a bunch of goodies, and just felt like sharing. If anyone cares.
Got the guns from Ken at 007; the Glock's silencer is KJW from Ken, as well, and all the goodies on the M4 are from eHobby Asia. These pics were taken today, outside Yellowknife, at a little 3 man skirmish just to try out our new gear. Fun!

$308 + Tax & Shipping
The loadout has been worked out over a couple of years, as I took up paintball last year, but fell out of love with it and into love with airsoft as one of the guys in our group (an ASC age-verifier) regularly uses airsoft instead of paint. Me and another guy decided to take up the airsoft cause in Yellowknife, and try to convince everyone else to do the same.

Performance is pretty cool (with nothing to compare it to, really...). It makes a cool noise, compared to what I hear on YouTube; it has some "crack" to it. Our resident airsoft expert chrono'd it at about 350 fps. My only issues so far are the useless (just for show) bolt catch rattle something awful, and the mags (Star 85rnd plastic) don't quite seat, and I had to hold them up in place for them to feed, but I think I may be able to fix that with some duct or electrician's tape.

Really nice weapons, definately a nice setup indeed. Are you planning on doing a review?

Whoa, I've seen nary a member from the Northern Territories, Hi! So I'm guessing you got the threaded barrel for the G23 from 007 as well? Nice blasters

Yup, KJW threaded barrel indeed; Ken was very helpful.
Not much of a review; these are my first proper airsoft guns (I've had some springer pistols for years, and a couple of Canadian Tire clearsoft springer M4s. Crud. I'm holding one in my profile pic.). I really chewed up some bits on the M4 whilst trying to put the goodies on. In particular, the MRE rail was difficult. Not the rail itself, but getting the factory parts off in the first place. A design flaw? in that wires block the ring that locks the handguard ring (now even I'm confused) in place. I couldn't get that last ring past wires that come from inside the receiver and pop out through the outer barrel, and practically broke the thing to get it off; nearly cut the wires, too. I also neglected to notice the tiny allan screw on the flash hider, and stripped most of the threading on the end of the barrel. Luckily, there's just enough left to mount the silencer (King Arms 200mm, $55 from my northern connection), which I plan to leave on, anyway. It looks cool, and I figure something that sounds much quieter than a real gun, should look like something quiet. I like the smoked clear lower, for now (Delta Force!), but eventually I'll paint the whole thing, SpecOps-style.

The PEQ box should actually be mounted on the top... That's the way I was told it **should** be mounted for balancing purposes and also since "the leet delta operators" do it that way too.
If you watch the leet magpul dynamics-gangster-sideways shooting video you'll also notice that they don't hold the vert grip like a "broomstick". In fact they don't even hold the vert grip at all.... Sweet setup though. The ACU's really blend in with the area during that time of the year. Also note that you probably shouldn't be playing below 0 degrees Celsius. Cracking mechboxes and all that jazz associated with cold weather. Nice SG1 patches.

Hah; it was 2 degrees above. We've noticed that SpecOps types use the sideways mount to save the top rail real estate for extra optics, like NV or magnifiers. Regular troops top mount, and both types tend to tie everything on with paracord (which I'll likely do when I paint it up). And I rarely grab the foregrip (just a stubby), except in pictures; more often use it as a brace, like grabbing the receiver in front of the magwell.
The ACUs actually work well up here through the summer; lots of bare grey rock and pale birch trees. I do love me the SG-1
