CanSoft (the clear lower receiver guns) are the only things that can be easily and legally imported into Canada without a license (AFAIK).
They are the same inners (well, usually) as their black counterparts from those companies (ICS, G&G, etc), except they just have the clear or tinted receiver to conform to CBSA regulations.

Clear plastic just came in to help clear up the loop hole that airsoft sits in. From my understanding, as long as the gun is clear, it's clear that it's not a gun.
They are quality names, just clear instead of plastic. Then you can look for a metal body somewhere on the forums as people still risk it to bring them in. That's the short answer.

Make a search for Cansoft or read the 007 website about the clear plastic lower receiver thing.
In short, some reputable airsoft makers now produce a clear or semi clear version of their AEG. The quality is said to be medium, as in, not as good as TM, but not quite as shitty as Canadian tire softair guns. Some entirely clear guns are still very very low quality and even a noob should not buy it.

Black gun = replica firearm which is illegal to import for sale purposes, and illegal to sell to individual. Of course, we know there are ways around that, but it's expensive.
Clear receiver = imitation firearm which is legal to import and sell. Manufacturers of mid-range black guns are now producing the identical guns, but with a clear plastic lower (or upper in some cases) for the Canadian market. Many don't like that, but it does open the door to more affordable guns. There's a nice, untapped potential market in Canada, and it's nice to see reputable manufacturers making higher quality stuff that's Canadian legal.
