Cool stupid bb question

ok i'm sure i might get some flack for this but is reusing bb's ok and bad for the gun. the reason i ask is this i have a daughter who loves picking them up and giving them back to me and when you put about 4000 or more rounds in your back yard getting a few thousand back is kinda nice i would not reuse them in game play but for target practice. so any imput on that would be good. and no she dose not pick them up when i'm shooting my gun

Generally bad. Shooting a BB can deform and warp it, which in turn can damage the hop-up and barrel of the gun.

Also dust and dirt that ends up getting on it will chew up your inner barrel or so I'm told. If you're shooting a CT gun though, whatever just reuse them it's like $30 bucks for a Crappy springer from CT, it's not like it's a PTW.

with springers that go less than 200fps you can recycle bbs all day. I did that when I first got my very first canadian tire airsoft with some canadian tire .12g bbs

Yup, they shouldn't hurt the 'nade. Heck some people use frozen peas.

No, we use dry peas in disposable grenades. AI grenades still have "barrels".

And I have reused BB no problem in the past, I just put the used ones into a bowl and inspect every one of them as I rebag them. And heavy sniper ammo from shooting and testing in my basement, never go back through my sniper rifles............. they go into my Glock 19. Yes, I'm one of the only ones in the country to use 0.36g or 0.43g BBs in my GBB............ with fucking amazing (and loud) results.

Seems to me like it would be a good segue to doing some bonding and/or teaching her about gun safety or about airsoft.

Depends on how old she is though. I'm not a parent by any means so use your best judgement on when she's ready to learn to be responsible (I say around 11-12 would be a good time as they seem to be quite impressionable and is probably the best time to introduce "young adult responsibilities" into their life).

I'm not sure if this is true but I've heard of people putting a bunch of BB's in a bowl (maybe a pasta sieve), putting a bit of dish detergent and water in the mix, stirring it around, letting it dry and throwing out the deformed BB's.
