Welcome to the world of RIS/RAS accessories.
Real steel rails are supposed to follow MIL-STD-1913 dimensions; as the name implies, it's a standard, so everyone's rails and accessories are inter-compatible. Unfortunately, airsoft products don't always do such a good job of replicating real sizes, maybe in part because parts are cast rather than machined. Point in case, you'll find rails and/or accessories that aren't 100% spec (typically the width of the rail is slightly different, and the thickness and angle of the tracks can vary) and some things don't fit quite right (sometimes things are loose, sometimes too snug or won't fit). I've run into the problem you described, you'll find the culprit is most likely the plastic block at one end of the track (where the push bar/leaf spring thing is); you'll find the width/angle of the cutout (which is supposed to slide over the rail) doesn't match, and you'll have to remove a bit of material.

awesome thanks. However, these rails previously fit onto the gun... I'm just having immense difficulties fitting them on.
