Newest DragonRed ACOG 4x32 with Doc Sight

Anyone have any experience with this scope?

Sounds like it's the black version of the green ACOG that people seem to like. I already purchased it and will be mounting it on a Stag 2T 5.56. Hopefully the scope's lineage proves accurate.

Are people uniformly having to take the battery out of the Doc sight to preserve battery, or does the cover actually turn the optic fully off?

The cover does it's job, though mounting it on real steel... Can't say if that is a good idea or not.

Otherwise I like it, it's been on my CQB-G for a while, no issues.

Yeah, I figure I would give it a try. I may just end up mounting it on my GSG-5 if the recoil of the 5.56 is too "aggressive".

You might also kill it... start small would be my advice, China clones are nice and all but still made for airsoft.

It looks like someone has already tried it with an AR15 on the dragonred site. Holds zero and stands recoil. I'll get mine tomorrow and hopefully it'll be a similar story.

Time will tell. It depends what kind of shooting you'll be doing with your AR. If you're just doing the occasional weekend plinking it might hold zero for a while. If you're going to use it doing a carbine class, I foresee undesirable things happening.
