KJW Mk1 Carbine

Thinking of picking one of these up and would like to know people's thoughts. The one I'm looking at already has the metal hopup and mags are easy to get. I'm looking at one for a sort of target plinker and maybe something to game with in the warmer months since I heard they can hit about 500fps with .2's....

Anyone here own one? What are your thoughts on it and what are decent prices for them? Etc?

Weel, I've owned a Mk1 pistol and shot a Mk1 Carbine.

Both are basically pretty much the same, except for the stock and longer barrel in the carbine. Expect it to hit the 400 fps mark with green gas at about 12 ÂșC, and far far more during a hot summer day.

I ended up using only 134a on my pistol, and the guy with the carbine doesn't use it in games anymore.

By the way, the pistol made my deeply upgraded G36K feel emaciated when it shot. That thing's a beast.

If you pay more then 100$ for the gun used you are getting ripped off.

They are cheap power houses.

Really? Why so cheap? I've only ever seen three Carbines for sale and only two Pistols for sale in the past 5 years. They seem a little on the "rare" side?

KJW Carbine
Tightbore Barrel
Two outter barrels (one longer than the other)
Two mags
Scope
Metal Hopup
$250 shipped

Not a good deal then?

I bought a broken one for 20$ and fixed it and sold it for 50$.

Grim was selling them new for 100$.

007 shows them for 400$ which makes baby jesus cry.

Rare does not mean it is valuable. Althought a lot of people try to sell stuff with that line in their sales thread.

On canadiangunnutz, guy was trying to sell some CZ pistols worth about 150-200 each for 600 each claiming they were "rare". They are rare cause they suck and no one wants them.

Listed at $80USD in HK, so do the currency rate say $100-110CAD, toss on a 300% to cover some shipping and taxes...

so $250 for one mk1 with scope and mags, depends on the scope I suppose. But this inner barrel and metal hopup strike me as odd as I've never come across upgrade parts such as those, I've seen valve kits but nothing else.

They're fairly decent guns, I've got to test 'em before and they've got quite a bit of power behind them!! The finish on the metal is decent, it's not as nice as say a G&P gun, but it certainly does its job. The wood is actual wood which was nice, none of that compressed and glued wood dust bullshit.

Only downside for me is that the gun isn't blowback... But oh well!

The old Carbines had plastic hopups which were total crap so the new versions came out with metal hopups. I did research online and yes there are tightbore barrels made for them although they are extremely rare.
