Ugh Kraken Battery Problems?

Hey guys. I THINK my kraken MAY have a battery problem.

As you know, I bought a kraken and my warranty is "expired". (Yea pfft.)

Good gun, but heres the story. Note: This is the STOCK battery and stock charger.

Last weekend, I played a 4 hours airsoft game, and my battery died. So then I went home and charged for about 9.5-10.5 hours. Once the battery was charged, I took it off the charger and it layed in my room for the week and then finally today, I plugged it in and went to go play a game. Within the first 40 minutes, the battery died.

When I noticed that the battery was dying, it would seem that when on semi auto, the gun wouldnt shoot everytime I pressed the trigger. (This happened only a few times).

I dont get why my battery died to fast. Like, I think I fully charged it. Even though I left it for like 6 days, I dont think it could have lost its charge.

So basically, I fully charged my battery (Or atleast it seemed I did), it died within 40 minutes. :S Why?

The basics are that when a battery is at the end of it's life, they lose the ability to hold a charge. They are not like jugs of water that you fill, and they stay full until you drain them. The life of a battery is dependent on a lot of factors, original quality being one of them. Do some research on batteries. Too much to explain here.
9.5 - 10.5 hours to charge a battery seems like juuuuusssttt a bit long to charge a battery. What is the voltage and mAh of the battery, and what are the V and mAh of the charger?

the kraken battery is a POS, its a large batt with small connectors
i'd suggest getting a new batt and charger

Its the stock kraken charger and stock kraken battery. It says right in the booklet that it takes 10-11 hours roughly. Heres the specs.

Battery: Ni-CD 4/5 SC
1200 mah 8.4V P

Charger:
Input: 120 AC 60hz 90ma
Output: 8.4v DC 250 ma

I could just buy a 8.4V Ni-MH 1050mah battery with small connectors. (I'd still have to use this charger though. I dont have the cash to get a better one.)

With that charger it should take at most 5 hours to fully charge. 250 x 5 = 1250
do not overcharge batteries, as that can shorten their lifespan, and some it is dangerous.

Divide the battery capacity by the current of the charger to get the hours needed for charge. i.e. 1500mah batt and 500ma charger = 3 hour charge.

Alright. Thanks guys. I'll try that out. I was hoping it wouldnt be a problem with the gears or anything.

yup. though its more like a medium battery. aftermaths weird like that. my brothers kirenexes stock battery was a mini that was smaller than a mini

get a sanyo or tenergy large if you want a nice battery and not spend a lot.
you can go to www.allbattery.com and pick up a set of two tenergy 2400 mah larges for the price of a firefox or intellect mini off most sites last time i checked

though on second thought since their website been under construction for months apparently you can try their ebay store instead
here make this easy for you. you would do nice with this set and pick up a mini to large connector if you need one to run the larges

Well, my gun takes a mini. How am I supposed to change a mini to a large? (Theres an adapter yes?) Also that site is under construction.

Why would the instruction booklet lie to me? :P

To the post above: Are those large or small connectors?

the kraken stock battery is a pos and thats it bottom line. the best thing you can do with it is cut the wires off at the base with the connector on it and save that for future wiring if you might need to do any. and toss the rest of it in the garbage

Do not use an adapter in your gun (ie battery is a large connector, gun is mini, then a piece of wire inbetween with large on one side and mini on the other side). waste of space, waste of resistance. Just get someone to solid new connectors onto everything. (I suggest deans).

You could have borked the battery by charging it for that long. Dumb chargers don't detect when a battery is full, and are either on a timer or just keep going.
