Which part of the G36 is restricted?
I've been seeing the discussion in the 007 new direction thread and the comments regarding the restricted uppers versus lower recievers (Mp5 and UMG).
I'm thinking of replacing some of the body on my G36. Is the upper reciever restricted for G36s? Which part is restricted? (obviously not B, the magwell). The lower reciever of the G36 resembles the Mp5. Why is the grip/trigger not restricted on the Mp5? vs.

The serial number on the MP5 is located on the upper receiver rather than the lower, therefore it is restricted.

Ah, so by that logic, I could import everything except the upper reciever of the G36 (which is the majority of the body - bummer).

I believe the lower receiver is prohibited, not the upper.
The reason being is because it houses the trigger group. Double chek though.

That would make no sense because the MP5 upper is restricted, and the lowers on both are very similar. I'd say upper. Again, whichever has the serial number.
