Cost to start?
Hey, I'm not going to ask ''what is a good gun'' I don't need to know what is best. I was just wondering, since Im 15 I have 3 years left until I can start buying and playing. So I was wanted to know how much do you think it costs to get into airsoft, (Guns, gear, mags, etc.)? I know it's not cheap, that is why I'm asking now so I cam start saving. I don't want to hit 18 and have no money for airsoft.

The gun, a good battery to go with it, magazines, a solid charger, a vest to carry it all, and matching camo.
I payed 1000$ to get started with a TM AK-47. Bought the best battery and charger I could find, 5 mags, and I was set. Camo and gear came later. But it'll be about 1000$ for you, I guarantee. |

I don't think any estimate we give you now is going to be any good 3 years from now. In addition, how much it cost you includes factors we cannot possibly predict, such as luck (someone in a hurry lowballing his own stuff) or your personal preference (barely any gear and all of it repro versus gearwhoring real stuff), etc.
Then there is always shopping experience. I can hit the field running for $500, since I'm not likely to make bad purchases. For $1000 I might be able to squeeze in a sidearm to go with my primary. Today's market price, of course.

But this also depends on the brand. With cheaper china guns, you could get all you need for much less. But don't expect it to last you. |

I agree with everyones quote of 1000 smackeroos. When I started in Feb, I bought a brandnew TM AK-47, battery, charger, vest and BDU's (which were bought from ehobbyasia), and a couple mags and it ran me close to a grand. good luck!!!!!!!!!

Absolute minimum of 800$, but more realistically, 1000$ is close to what a minimal, milsim ready loadout cost. But expect to dump an other 1000$ in the following 2 years.
I'm down over 5000$ now, after 6 years.

yep. $1000 is a good number, but don't expect that you will stay with one camo, or type of gear, or gun... I don't even like to think about how much money i've spent... and I'm not even an addict, i swear.

one time I made a list for a buddy that wanted to get in. We chose each specific stuff and got all of the basic stuff + some extra useful stuff and it cost $600 total after shipping(with a JG gun too!)
no sidearm though |

First things first, yey protection, then good footwear.
Whatever is left after that can be spent on fluff like BDUs and guns. |
