Different Gun Manufacturers
Alright,
I am new to your forum, i have recently sold my last gun which was a TM MP5A4. I have sold that and i am looking to pick up a G3 or M14, but i am lost when it comes to manufacturers. I have read mixed reviews everywhere about different manufacturers, pertaining to the quality of guns. The Mp5 was a TM, and it was the only gun i have owned i was pleased with craftsmanship and quality of the gun, but i am now looking for another. So i was just wondering if people could throw up what they use, which manufacturers are reliable, and which manufacturers (if any) to stay away from. I have only used TM and i am happy with them. I have heard some negative reviews about a few of the chinese manufacturers. just looking for a couple opinions. Thanks, in advance. Last edited by insert; August 28th, 2008 at 12:03.. If you want an M14, get TM. end of story. it is the best in terms of performance and is equal or surpasses all the other brands in terms of exterior quality and craftsmanship. If you want a G3, i would recommend going with a Classic Army (CA), because they are full metal. That being said, you might have to install some upgrades off the bat with the CA G3, but that would be cheaper than buying a TM and putting a metal body on it and then upgrading it. ANywhere from $300-$600 cheaper.

If you're looking at G3s, look for Classic Army G3s. They're completely metal, making them more solid than TM G3s.

+1 on the CA G3s. I've used one before (not owned). It fired well and felt great. Exterior quality was awesome, heavy, robust, solid.

Unlikely, there werent problems with it. hk416 series was stopped because H&K award trademark rights to Umarex and they are siezing the moment against competitors. If VFC wants to discontinue it, it was be disappearred off their web which isnt

I vouch for a ca m14. the tm one is a lot harder to dissemble. The gearbox in the CA is pretty much unbreakable.

G&G and CA has some trigger contact issues, which can be fixed by installing a Trigger Master or similar microcomp unit.
By comparison, TM has a better hopup unit, but G&G and CA has a much beefier and simpler-to-work-with mechbox. G&G and CA also have more version of M14 available, for those looking for fancier M14. No EBR, though, have to go with STAR for that. On the downside of things, there has been reports of TM M14 cracking their mechbox, and G&G and CA M14 use a mag that's somewhat less common.
