The quest for issue MARPAT.
Aaalright, warning, this is a spoonfeeding thread... I'm simply unable to find what i'm looking for.
I've been on the search for real issue USMC MARPAT. so far, Ebay has been full of maybes, Too expensive or unsures. Heres my best find. http://cgi.ebay.ca/Shirt-MARPAT-USMC...QQcmdZViewItem It has no indication of being Real or Clone. Which is annoying as heck. If anyone has any access to Issue MARPAT in Large sizing. hit me up please! (Also, if anyone is thinking of it, the MARPAT at sealsactiongear is apparently the wrong cut :\) ________ Motorcycle Tires Last edited by Strelok; April 11th, 2011 at 11:52.. |

You'll get better luck by looking in Ebay.com. Look for "issued" in the description and they are usually made by American Apparel Inc. or by Propper International.
I don't know what you mean by too expensive but if you can't afford about $80-100 to have a set shipped to you, you might have to be patient and wait for a good deal. There's a used set in large with a starting bid of $60US and they do ship to Canada for about $25.

I bought new unissued American Apparel MARPAT from A&A about 2 years ago, and they cost me $160 for the set. If it has the AA or Propper logo's inside the shirt, as well as the "eagle, globe and anchor" embedded in the fabric, it is likely issue. Mine comes in the issue USMC cut, not the Army ACU cut, that should be a solid giveaway that it's not issue if it comes in the ACU cut.

i have some genuine woodland MARPAT in medium if you are interested. if you are familiar with ACU, i found the MARPAT cut slightly looser.
and i'm so desperate to get rid of it i'd sell the set for like 40 CAD + shipping (from AUS, expect another 30-40) |

That's for sure repro. There's several different types of MarPat you'll encounter, which you may or may not be okay with: - The Chinese repros, which may or may not be in the proper cut, coloring may be off, may or may not have embedded EGA (Eagle, Globe, Anchor) in the pattern, not NIR treated/compliant, build quality may be in the toilet. - US repros from companies like Ultraforce (RothCo) or TruSpec, which are generally cheap shit. Not made from official fabric (no EGA), nor NIR compliant. Not in the right cut (RothCo uses the old Woodland/DCU cut, TruSpec uses the ACU style cut). - Propper International civial market stuff. The quality is good, but it usually comes in ACU cut. No EGA, no NIR. - Propper International overruns. Spec cut, EGA, but because they're overruns they haven't had the NIR treatment yet and they receive a civilian tag instead of the USMC tag (official issue products get a special "Made Expressly For [USMC seal] by [manufacturer]" tag, like this ). I've never come across overruns by other manufacturers. - Issue MCCUUs. EGA in pattern. NIR treated. USMC tag (as shown above). Issue MCCUUs are manufactured only by: Americal Apparel, Propper International, and a small number by American Power Source and E.A. Industries. Those are the ONLY official manufacturers, no matter what some eBay sellers claim. Issue USMC covers (boonie hats and 8- pointers) are made exclusively by SEKRI Industries; anything else is civialian/repro. Likewise, issue USMC fleece products are made exclusively by Peckham. ALL official products have The Tag. (edit: The trousers don't, sorry. They just have the old style cardboard tag) There are several sources on eBay for official issue stuff, including DevilDog Depot, GiftsUnlimited99, and USMCtoys (I know DDDepot and USMCtoys are run by Marines). USMCtoys also runs the USMC Blues online store. Prices are a bit high but there's no doubt about the quality. Note that some eBay sellers also have official, albeit "irregular" stuff. It usually says so clearly in the description, but if it's issue, new/unissued, and unusually cheap you may want to inquire about irregularities (at least one seller didn't mention it until I asked). There are also various online stores (like Military Gear HQ) that carry official issue products. I forgot to mention boots: there's several manufacturers (Bates, Belleville, Danner, Altama) and several variants (hot weather, cold weather, goretex, etc). All current issue boots have the USMC seal branded on the outside heel and all are in "Olive Mojave" which is noticeably darker than tan desert boots. ALSO important about SIZING: it tends to be all over the place. MCCUUs tend to run slightly longer (my MarPat Medium/Short pants are about the same length as woodland Med/Regs, similar story with the blouses), boots tend to be about 1/2 size bigger (my 9.5 Bellevilles are closer to 10s), boonie hats run small!!! get the next size up or it will not fit (i.e., if you usually wear 7 1/2 / Large, get XL). Garrison caps (8 pointers) run normal sizes.
