CQB tournament
Hi,
I have this concept in mind and would appreciate player feedback CQB Tournament Place : 8 teams Cost : TBA, will include BBs - 4 mens team - 350 fps max (all weapons) - Rubber knive, sword, etc allowed Concept : 2 teams face each other in 2 rounds games. The face each other on specific level of the building. After round 1, team switch side on the level for round 2. Each round has a 20 minutes duration (or end if all balloon are blew or if one team has lost all of it member). Each team has to fight it way and blew the other team 2 balloons (deployed on the opposite side of the level). This in order to have dynamic game (avoid/reduce camping). Each blew balloon is worth 1 pts. 1000 rounds (0.2 BB) are distributed to each team (they allocate among themselves). The 1000 BB are to be use for 2 rounds. This in order to have each team manage it BB and make decision base on ammo available. Low or mid cap mag only (100 rounds per mag max). No high cap, drum mag and so on. This in order to have the player manage reloading in game/under fire. Grenade are ok, 3 grenades per player max (for 2 rounds). Grenade to be supplied by player. 2 referees will be on the field during all rounds. They are out there to check that people call when hit, no blind fire is involve, etc. They will also monitor the game timer, etc. Blind fire result in the player being KIA for the round. Swiss tournament system. The best teams (best score) will face each other as we progress. Winning team = best score at the end. The aim of this tournament is friendly CQB gaming. The winning team will win no prize, all prize will be allocated in a random fashion (draw). All other standard airsoft rule will apply during the games.

interesting concept
I do like the blind fire rule in paticular.
The idea of a balloon to stop camping is good as well. I would be interested in such an event. Good idea. Do you mind if I expand on this for some woods games?

the field has to be somewhat pretty big then, since AEG can shoot the balloon from a distance.

The field itself would prevent any long range balloon sniping. You would have to be in the room were the balloon is to shoot-blow it.

The 2 balloons would be in different rooms though right?
8 teams seems a little small, 4 each team would make 32 players though. Nice concept, but for mags, I think 100 is a bit much, maybe something more like 60-80 max. 100 is still good but you might still get some spray and prayers. The real cap/midcap idea is still good though. If you do this over 2 days (with 16 teams) you can have an "east vs west" playoff type thing going on too. I also assume you're going to have a rule about full auto/burst/semi?

Hi,
Thanks for the feedback yes, each ballon would be in different room (and at opposite end of the deployment zone) 8 teams to start with, we would have 3 levels to play on, which mean 2 teams resting reloading while 6 would be playing. Ammo restrictions, depend, I would not want to restrict the game too much (but if all player could come with 0-80 rounds per mags, sure ) Phase one would be a 1 day event, depending on how it goes, indeed making it bigger over 2 days would be fun Remind me of my time in the Naval Gun Run. East versus West coast was a great concept Full auto and burst, as long as it not blind fire, no problem. Again, ammos restriction of 1000 round for 4 players for 2 rounds would make trigger happy people more of a hindrance to the team then anything. Each player would have let said, 250 rounds for 2 rounds of 20 minutes. That 125 rounds per rounds (20 minutes). You would wanna make each shot count. Quote:

Would a BB be able to pop a balloon?
|
|
July 3rd, 2008, 18:40 | #10 |
I have not tested it, but I would assume that yes. Worst case, a burst
if not, jump on it lol The balloons would be in close room. No long range ballon sniping. If you can shoot the balloon with BB, it because it so near that you can jump on it really. Now, should tactical shield be permitted?

Just use small balloons and blow them at their maximum size. BBs won't have trouble bursting them.

CQB
Must be realcap only ... the ranges of engagment are well within the effective range of airsoft guns. You should be able to hit what you aim at one shot one kill
its does not restrict the game.. it restricts the players.. and makes them have to work to win. Trust me.. CQB is pretty much all I do.. and I've hosted in excess of 200 CQB events... Realcap is the way to go.

Absolutly we've used them as "hostages" before ... to improve fire control. they work great but they have to blown up tight.

Real cap for sure, if we can muster 8 team of 4 players (that 32 players al with real caps mags) in the Montreal region.

Really great idea!!!
I wish we can host similar games here in Vancouver. Maybe I'll raise these ideas to admins during a game in the future.
