Yupp.

The PGC is the "best" current TM glock slide as it's CNC, and actually fits in G17 holsters. However, the Guarder does NOT.

I hear the finish is outstanding too..

PGC slide problem

I just received my PGC G17 slide kit from RedWolf for my TM Glock 17. There were no directions but I managed to install it but now it will not operate correctly. The slide gets stuck and I have to work to get it back off. I noticed that the front part of the slide where the recoil rod rests is twice as thick on the original plastic slide compared to the new replacement PGC slide. The new slide also came with a new outer metal barrel. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

You WILL have to file down the rails of the frame where the slide tracks.
I have installed three PGC slides on my G17's and all required some degree of filing for each.
DON"T expect them to be a perfect "out of the box" drop in replacement part because they are not!
Just make sure to file down where the HIGH spots are and use some gear grease on the tracks when breaking it in...hand-racking of the slide will smooth it out over time.
Also, don't use the metal outer barrel until you get the slide functioning 100%...the plastic outer will make things easier for you until you figure the slide out!
FILE LITTLE BY LITTLE, too much and it will be sloppy!

Hi all!
Kevorkian, I just bought a TM G17 and the metal slide, had the same problems as described here. Could you post a picture of the high spots needing filing? Dont want to mess up a great gun the first day!!

I can show you the rough areas that need to be filed and cleaned up, but each and every slide is different no matter what make! You just have to do it in small increments...too much & you'll get a Sloppy Joe!

I'll post some pics in a little bit!

Thanx for quick reply!
I noticed some rub marks in the slide after I took it back off, guess thats one place it needs some attention... ALso saw there was a plastic "shim" on the original slide on the muzzle-end where the recoil spring goes. That not beeing there on the PGC slide gives some slack, is that also normal?
