How many Vsr mags?
Hey, I know lately with all the dumb questions that have been asked lately this isn't exactly refreshing, but i couldn't find an answer.. So for all you people with vsr's, m700's and l69's, how many magazines would you carry on you in your loadout? I was thinking 5 sounded like a good number seeing how that would be around 150 rounds, but maybe thats over kill.
Any help is appreciated! Thanks |

well, i'm not a sniper user. but I think with 75 rds you should be all right. Even with my AEG I can make about three rouds with a single hicap mag (~400rds)

well, since its a sniper rifle, one, maybe 2 magazines should do. from what ive read and heard on the site, most snipers only shoot of a couple rounds a game, its not about sending tons of rounds downrange with a sniper.

I carry just two mags, so a total of 60 rounds. I've never had to reload the mags, but I haven't used JUST the aps for day long milsims. For those, I'd probably use about 200-300 in a day if I was pulling squad marksman support, much, MUCH less (maybe 30-60) if I was pulling recon/scout

ya, I wouldn't use it for a milsim, i got a rifle for that, just for regular games.

Take just two at the start, see how it goes. No sense in overkill on the mags, if you end up only using a couple. You can always buy more. I'd say (if you can) carry how many you need per game (on average), and than carry one more for sticky situations.

2, only because i dislike reloading my mag. One mag is enough for me but i have 2 just in case. I prefer carrying more mags for my back-up than my sniper.

I did all day at QuickPass3 last summer with only 3 mags. Never used the third... just to be safe and not run out in the middle of a firefight. And I was marksman/squad support... Just take the shots no one else can... |

(not a sniper) I'd say though that you should be filling out your vest with mags for your back up though.

Typically for me, 50rds for my M24 (two mags) or 30 rounds for my M700 (three mags). I dont' see much reson to loadmyself down with rifle mags, and it takes nothing to have a small bag of BBs on you and handload during slow periods, like respawn. Besides, I never use a sniper rifle as my primary (zero people should), it's always a special use weapon.

cool, thanks for all the help, I'm thinking just having one in the gun, and two spare should be good.. my backup will be a pistol because there is no way I am hauling around my heavy m4 with mags as a backup...

Make sure your pistol has good range and accuracy if it's your only secondary.
3 mags sounds like lots, especially since vsr mags hold so many rounds. |

I carry 4 L96 mags.. and go through... about.. 8-9 mags a game..
I don't play a "Sniper" role.. I play a designated marksman in a squad.. |
