BB loading/jamming problem with Hi-Capa
I am wondering if this is a gun problem or possibly BB issue? While I was doing the Postal shoot, I made an effort to try out the 0.25 g AEs I have lying around to try to see if they can pull off more consistant grouping. After a few mags I noticed that there are some issue with loading and that BBs aren't going off despite what seems to be a complete slide cycling(as in I pull the trigger 6 shot, in 3 double tap fashion, and ends up with still 4-5 BBs in the mag, on full gas or partial gas). At first I couldn't figure out what is the problem and I ended up taking the gun apart multiple times and lube, polish most if not all of the sliding surface thinking it might have been an issue with frame/slide fitment or something, but the situation persists. Then I went back to my remaining Excels .20g and 4-5 consecutive mags went off without any problem. Then I look around online and found that some review mentioned the AE stuff is measured in the 5.98-5.99mm where as the Excels are in 5.92s. I am wondering if this is a common issue, or is there something I should do to my Hi-Capa to make it more capatible to AEs.....
Just to note that my gun's loading nozzle is of the SD enhanced nozzle running on SD piston set, stock mag loading lip and stock hop-up unit. I am running FA frame and only other recent addition to my gun was a TK grip which I don't think would've caused an issue, and my gun has been running FA frame for a while without problem(with the Excels). |

In my experience, AE BBs (and Guarder BBs) are too big for most TM pistol mags. It won't feed properly and tend to get stuck in the feed lips. I've experienced this on Hi-Capa 4.3, 5.1 and P226.
Those BBs may also have some problems fitting in to some Marui lowcap mags as well (like the P90 lowcaps, for example.) |

interesting...what brand of BBs do you usually use for your many Hi-Capas?

Along the same lines but different.... I was mixing AE Green 0.25 and white 0.25s in my mags (double stack KJW G23 pistol and double stack MAG SIG mags) and it would cause them to jam. At first I thought it was dirt in the mags, but it happened to all of them.

I've got a WE Hi-Capa clone and haven't had a hiccup with Metal Tech.

Lol, BB Bastards are some of the best BB's around. Why would there be problems with them?
