New to Airsoft

Hello,

My name is Eric Grills, and I live in Thornhill, Ontario, just north of Toronto. My friend Nolan, and I are looking for guns to purchase and a place to play. I found a site, http://www.airsplat.com/ that seemed to offer reasonably priced guns, ready to be shipped to Canada. As for fields, how does everything work? I'm new to this, please help me out. I need suggestions regarding guns and fields.

Please respond here or e-mail me/hit me up on AIM.

Hi,

The simple answer for the site you posted is no. Buying outside of Canada will end in tears, since customs will try to take the guns away from you.

Right now, your best bet is to get age verified and buy from the classifieds on this site.

Edit: DAMN YOU BOWERS, DAMN YOU!

Those guns are from the US, you cannot get them across the border.

You need to purchase a gun from a canadian retailer, unfortunatly there aren't many, and prices are 3x that of US prices due to import fees and your basic laws of supply and demand.

People host public events at certain paintball fields, which has the proper insurance for activities like this. See the Ontario events forum for examples.

Let me clear the air, I'm on a tight budget. What are the best low priced guns on the market? Model and make.

Provided that you are of legal age and take the time to get age verified by a rep of this site, the basic setup will cost upwards of 500$, with a reasonnable setup costing around 1000$.

Guns start out at about 300$ in the classifieds, but you need batteries, mags, etc to use them.

There's basicly no way to pull this off on only a couple hundred bucks.

If your on a tight budget your best bet would prob be to either get verified and order from the classifieds or order from shootsoft, they have guns for cheaper, more of the cheaper makes but most can be upgraded.

What exactly do you mean by "tight budget"?? Get age verified, and then you can check the classifieds for used airsoft, or if lucky, maybe the ocassional NIB. Having access to that should give you an idea of pricing. Just be warned that airsoft can be cheaper than paintball to play/maintain, but it is very, VERY easy to spend lots of cash on kit and all the bling.

As for Canada Customs, NOT WORTH THE RISK!!! Charged with smuggling restricted/prohibited weapons, criminal record, vehicle impoundment, maybe property seizures (if they assume "proceeds of crime"....it can get really ugly....fast. Oh, and you will not be allowed back into the US, and anything you order from the US will be opened/searched (you will be flaged).

Customs doesn't check inside every box that comes across the border, but they don't really need to when boxes from airsoft retailers are clearly labelled as such. If they catch you, they keep it.
