another problem. WE 5.1 hi-capa not locking back.

Hey everyone.

I have another little problem with my gun i hope one of you can help me with. If i put an empty mag in and cock it back it will lock fine so its not worn out yet. But, when i finish shooting a mag it doesn't lock back. It will just continue to shoot empty. What could this be?

I hear the only way for it to work well is to have a TM Hi Capa 5.1 mag, the spring is rather weak with the WE mags. I have one and it has the same problem that you speak of.

a new TM mag will fix this? are you 100% sure? It used to work but it gradually went away. what does the mag spring have to do with the slide locking?

When the mag empties the feed lip pushes up on the slide catch lever which should cause the slide to lock back after the last round is fired!

This is common with most WE guns. Upgrade with an aftermarket slide catch (nineball) and you'll see the difference! I've also noticed that the spring tension inside of the WE mags is weaker than a stock TM Hicapa and this can also account for the slide catch not activating.

Try the slide catch first!

not sure if this is rellavent to you but I put a 150% recoil spring in my KJW M9 Vertec and the slide lock does not work during fireing as the slide snaps back to the front so fast it does not catch but if I manually pull it back it locks

Any chance you are using a hiflow valve with this upgrade...or is the spring the only upgraded part at this time?

no i didnt have any upgrades. Bone stock on propane. sometimes not even a full mag.
