Looks just like a copy of the JBU shorty front ends, which I own.

What's the length of the barrel? 7"?

The setup in the picture has no way of storing a battery, short of duct taping it to the side of the gun.

I'd use the barrel and gas block with one of those 7" rails (Troy or DD) though, a KX3, and maybe switch to a CTR stock (or a side folder on an ICS body). Battery will still be a PITA though. Someone needs to bust a move and get those gas V2s out...

i was actually thinking about making a "stubby" m4 out of spare parts for a back up weapon. i think a peq battery pack would go nicely on the upper reciever rail. all in all thats pretty much what i had in mind when i got the idea, minus the buttstock of course, i would go with a side folding one. very nice huang

Dunno, the CQC setup I'm building has a 10 inch rail, I even went for the realistically sized VFC AN/PEQ, and I still find that sucker takes up a lot of rail real-estate.

Does that actually fit? All the LiPo packs I've seen so far were only marginally smaller than a Mini NiCad pack... and especially in a TM-style buffer tube, doesn't really seem like it'd be possible. But if you have additional insight on the matter I'd love to hear it since I don't know much about LiPo options.

You meant the lipo may explore? I don't know why people have that impression. lipo has envovled quite a long time. Lipo has been widely adapted by asian airsoft community.

It looks awkward because of the short Kitty-Kat style handguard. This is like the setup I mentioned above, except with a LaRue handguard:

Same 7inch (7.5) barrel setup, but the longer handguard makes it looked more balanced, and overall its a nifty compact little CQB gun.
