Is this a decent, newbie sniper?

http://www.speedytoys.com/shop/item.asp?itemid=213

I need to get it shipped clear, but i can probably spray it.

It is spring, so reloading is realistic.

Is it upgradable, and should i upgrade? I heard snipers off the box are like regular guns with a slower reload (the bullet doesn't go as far like a sniper would in RL)

Thanks, and help the noob

No. No it is not.

If you want to be a newbie sniper, then you won't be playing airsoft with this, you will most likely be shooting shit in your back yard.

Come back when you get age verified.

If you were to have filled out your profile, I would have gone easy on you, but tough luck sucka!

I will tell you this not to bring you down but just general knowledge. The sniper role is the worst for a new person to start playing as for many reasons. The two largest is it costs the most money, and it's the worst to play when you're not used to the role. You will be "killed" to many times before you shoot someone it's not even funny.

you best bet is to start playing using an AEG and when you get the hang of it and saved up enough money, but a sniper rifle that is either gas powered, or save up enough to buy a spring rifle and get it immediately upgraded.

I have one. Its only cool cuz it ejects shells. I wouldn't field it. Get an M14 if you want both, but generally, just get a regular AEG to start playing with.

Yeah I picked up an M14 for that reason. You have the single shot semi sniper role but also have the full auto when you need it in a pinch!

if the full length m14 is too long for you go for the socom. Amazing accuracy and amazing range, even though it's shorter. my first aeg was an m14 (full) and i was/am still completely amazed with it... second was a g3 sg1. Droooool.. keep searching the classifieds.. check out the echo1's if you need a cheap altern.

Too bad that it has to be clear to order it in Canada ALTHOUGH there is still a chance that clear ones will be seized as well.

Hah, I heard someone brought a clear mini MP5 to a game as a joke. Got some hits too...

Anyways, I love playing with my S9 in the basement, the shell mechanism is damn awesome. Thats pretty much it. Mine has almost no accuracy for some reason.

Cheers,
Alex

I have heard that the TM M14 has a great trigger responce and the AGM M14 is a surprising buy. I have held both and to tell the truth the AMG has a nice ka chink sound but its a SOB to break down. M14 are really long but mostly due to there stock. Their internal barrels are actually shorter than m16. M16= 509mm, m14=500m SOC16=420mm. I weild a SG/1 and will not change. I dont play a rifleman or a DMR role but they do have a nice hop-up and they come stock with folding bipods. No only that their internal barrel is a mid point between the m14 and SOC16. At 469mm they are the shortest barreled AEG that uses a non-ported cylinder. This might not matter to you but the G3s in general have false muzzels. The barrels do not extend very far past the front sight. The G3s have dead space in front of their front sight that is not being occupied by barrel lenght. This might only be a conscern if you decide to play in CQB. If you look at the G3 with the front barrel cover off or if it is replaced with a silencer adapter they are not much longer then an extended M4 but the G3 have an 18"+ barrel. TM G3s have some barrel wobble to over come but o-rings can do it and like i said before they do have a nice hop-up device.

hope this helped

Agreed, the AGM is very decent for the money.

Why don't you get a CA36 ? Full length barrel, great response, V3 @ 320 fps, folder, and! bi-pod !

Did I mention the 3.5x sight?

lol, the number of new players that want to be snipers.

RSS a consideration. Anyone Sniping at the velocities most AS snipers use are subject to the host/field rules. Also they are subject to the sniper veto by the other players. Since you are a new player I would suspect that you'd get veto'd pretty quick. Finally now that the Sniper IDs in ontario are coming out from Barf and Sha Do, I figure many hosts are going to need to see those IDs before letting you snipe in the first place.

I've had an aps/2 that shoots almost 500 fps for 2 years and have not gamed it once. I honestly quite prefer using my m-14 for sniping. Might get the aps/2 out if another sniper clinic comes up.
