Ghillie Suit
Ok, i was going to make myself a new Ghillie suit (last one had a nasty encounter with my dog), but being short on time (leaving for France to visit the family, and my job poking me everyday) i have decided to just buy one and make some improvements on it.
First of all, anyone know good ghillie manufacturers that go for around $100-$150? Those ebay one's look very... crappy O_o Also can i order one in the US/Oversea and have it deliver to Montreal? Or is that another illegal/bs/omfgshootme item not to bring into Canada? TY |

Offer my bud Bryan $150 and see what he says. And tell him that I told you to offer that much (or little, he might want $200 for it) so he'll go light on flaming you. |

Ah. Oh well, when you get back, try making another one. Cheaper and you'll have learned form your mistakes.

Hey, in order to make it turn out like this:
it has to be well beaten, weathered, etc. So maybe your dog improved it.......... unless it was in pieces only large enough to ghillie up a group of hamsters. |

I have been working on a ghillie blanket. What is the best way to work it in?

I bought mine from Ghilliesuits.com. I paid $149.99USD. I used it at our last game that was held yesturday. It worked very well, no one noticed me any were on the field. Even had four of my team members nearly walk on me until I said something and scared the hell of them.
Ya I know my boots were showing in the first and last pic, dang pants bunched up when I went to settle down.

Best way is to break it in is to wear it, and spend 10mins every 100ft you walk trying to untangle it from trees. Seriously, a two piece GOOD ghillie hazs the problem of hooking, a blanket, if worn as a poncho, is the worst for hanging up on shit. Either change your design or make sure you have a good knife, hand wood saw and pruning shears handy.

Handmade is the only way to go;
Check out Micheal's (art supply store) for a multitude of RIT dye colours. Kelly green makes a great base colour for the types of foliage you'll see during the summer months. |

Kokanee hit the nail on the head and the CF snipers make the friggin things from basic materials and then have to tie in the natural into the artificail materials. Quite works of art when done. CP gear had some ok models available at reasonale cost as did russian combat gear, then again these are internet pics I was seeing...

Take a break, think about everything you want and go out to a game or two before going big on everything. This will prevent you from making a new thread for every little question that you can think of.
Take the time to do some research here and on Arnie's Airsoft's forums. There's a lot of usefull info here and there so you won't have to create a new thread for everything you want to know. Being spoonfed about everything won't make you look like a serious player at all. PS : Stop asking about what you should wear for Montreal since there's not any chances of you playing a game outdoor in Montreal.
