CA M14 Match

I have one arriving in two weeks but I cannot find any info on what size and shape of battery it takes so I can order one. Anyone here have an idea? Also what plug size?

Takes a large 8.4v battery, but has the same issue as TM14 where batteries made from the biggest Sub C cells barely or can't fit through the battery door. Not really a big deal, though, just take the butt plate off.

I'm also looking for a rail to mount a scope onto this gun, anyone know where I can find one or what fits? I searched through the classifieds here but couldn't find one.

Ok I found a rail I think. I found a M14 scope mount on ACA and I'm hoping it will work and fit the an M3 scope. Will these work together with the M14?

Apperently the side mounted rails are crap.

What you need to get is a RIS system and a scope mount nub.

Well worth it, though. Sidemounts are a lot of deadweight.

CA uses -14mm (aka. CCW) thread on all their flashhiders. If their M14's flashhider is screwed on, the thread will be -14mm.

I've got no complaints with my KA sidemount on a TM M14...

If it adds dead weight, it's pretty negligible.

I had bought kinds of mounts on a real M1A and fund the RIS to be more dead weight.

I'll pick up a side mount from ACA along with an M3 scope when I sell my MP5-SD6. Thanks for all the feedback!

Might as well throw my question in here...

The pics I've seen look like theres a notch in the mag that comes with the gun, like a G&G M14 mag where as the TM M14 mags are solid rectangles. Is it a ver.7 mechbox or a copy of the special G&G M14 mechbox?

The TM and CA mags for the M14s are NOT interchangable... I've learned that much lol.

A guy over at airsoft kelowna just told me that he cant use a battery over 1800mAH in his TM M14 because it causes his gun to sort of double fire. Anyone else heard this and will it happen with my CA M14? If this is a problem cause I already ordered an 8.4v 2400 mAH battery for it....

The CA14 won't react to the same battery the same way as the TM14 due to their many differences. Not sure how a CA14 would react that battery, too little info. Probably not double fire, though, different mechbox and electrical work all together.
