Hard Cases
Someone once told me of a brand for Hard pistol cases and rifle cases that look similar to the STAR cases. I beleive it was at the WP Primary May 24 game. Can anyone remember, or help me find one?
example of a star Pistol Case cheers, DarkAngel |

Heh, will have to go bug LUTNIT bout this, but the warrenty on the Pelicans is that they will hold up to anything except shark attacks and children under the age of 5!

you forgot about bear attacks!
I have a Pelican laptop case, thing has been smashed around and only has some very minor scratches on it, have had it for a year now. Warranty says if it breaks, they will replace it, forever, but in fine print it says the warranty is void in the case of shark bites, bear attacks, and children under 5. Don't ask me... The Pelican cases don't look like the STAR cases, it fact the STAR cases look like Pelican cases. The pelican line of cases is what STAR based their design off of, they aren't nearly the same quality of course but still fairly decent. I think my laptop case is guaranteed against a 20 foot drop onto concrete without damaging anything inside, floats with up to 17lbs of stuff inside, waterproof to 30 feet or something, pressure equalizing membrane so if you change altitude the fact that the case is sealed doesn't mean it will suction close or blow open. Its made of fiber reinforced structural foam injected molded plastic so it can easily stand up to being run over by a hummer or other large vehicles and remain rigid. Pelican simply makes damn fine cases, looking into getting a 1720 case for my AEG's (the 1750 wont fit into many car trunks, need a truck.) And if you need a Pelican case with a custom interior, there is a Canadian company that can do it and do often work making custom inserts for firearms so talking about guns with them is no big deal. http://www.customcaseco.com/ Last edited by LUTNIT; May 27th, 2007 at 11:27.. |

Theres the entire Pelican line. There are 4 cases specifically for rifles in different sizes to accommodate differently sized weapons and depending on what you have you can use smaller cases. The P90 for example uses a smaller case and you can get P90 specific foam inserts ordered from Pelican in the states: http://www.casesbypelican.com/military/p90.htm G36c also has a case like the P90 since when the stock is folded its so short. Ask anyone that has seen both, the STAR case is garbage in comparison. I had a STAR M249 that came with the hard case and it was nice but the quality control, wall thickness, and general feel of the case is terrible compared to a Pelican case. If the STAR cases where truly better they would be a lot more expensive and the military/PMC's would be using them instead of Pelican cases. Last edited by LUTNIT; May 27th, 2007 at 11:41.. |

No shit! Le Baron has the Pelican Rifle Case, price....................
$325CDN! Super cases though, you can custom fit the foam to your rifle (come to think of it, one guy here in Ottawa, Pronto Bombo, actually shelled out the coin for a Pelican case and has the foam cut out nice for his M4 and other accessories. I was mildly jealous when I first noticed it was a Pelican case!) A hardshell case for the same price as a used AEG.............. wow! |
