Question TGS Aimpoint in Canada?

I was originally going to get a Leapers RDS, but I am going all out on a CA M15A4 SPC, so I figured it wouldn't be fit to have a lame looking sight on it. I have been reading the threads on ASC, and everyone seems to really like the TGS Aimpoint replicas, but I cannot find any Canadian retailers. I checked all the ones listed at the top, but I can't find it.

Where did you all get yours?

Check out ebay. They have aimpoints with full trademarks without that TGS trademark on them... Looks pretty good too... If your lucky enough there are also ones with metal engravings of the word aimpoint on the body... ordering one myself...

Its also pretty cheap too... ranges around 30-60 CDN...

Did you just look at the retailer's sites or did you email them to ask? If it's not there, you have to ask if they can order it for you.

You can also check sites that sell equipment for real guns, there are good deals that will be just fine for airsoft.

OK, so I am a little skeptical of ordering things on ebay because I'm not sure exactly what I am getting. I have no idea what brand this is, but does it look good? Here is the link:

Also, does anyone know if the cantilever mount that comes with it will be able to see over the front sights on my M15A4?

Your ironsights always must co-witness your target. Shitty optics (such as replicas) are prone to failure if given the right condition. If they fail, you have your irons on the target, and still have a chance to make accurate shots.

This is what I have been hearing lately. Does this mean that I will have my iron sights in the middle of my red dot? What would be the point of that then, wouldn't it be just as easy to use the iron sights on their own? If someone could clarify that would be great.

The point it, the scope/sight should be over top of and not impede the iron sights, so that if you can't use the scope/sight, you can move you head down/the gun up, and look down the iron sights to aim at your target.

The way I do it is to line up RDS with Front sight, and leave the rear sight down. And that helps with target acquisition. When/If my RDS runs out, then I flip up my rear sight.

It should be visible in the 2/3rd of your RDS. Personally I like 1/3rd, just cause it gives me a clearer picture. Also you may want to have your RDS as far down the handguard as possible. FOV is very important. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...66/gunsite.jpg

Hope that helps!

OK, I am such a newb. I thought I new a bit about guns but apperantly not. Bear with me here...

It is my understanding that iron sights work like this. The rear must be lined up with the front sights. This means that the weapon is level and aimed at the target. Now, If I had what KOS pictured, all I can see is my front sights, and not only that, but they are pointing at a different level then my red dot! One of them has to be wrong.

Here is a picture of a mounted aimpoint to help me illustrate how I want to mount it;

Now unless this is an optical illusion, it would appear as if the front sight was smack dab in the middle of the aimpoint's view. Wouldn't it be ideal to have the view of the aimpoint clear of obsticals such as this?
