My Gun Froze Up! Expert Advice Needed

Okay.... this is sort of a continuation from my last post so here is the relevent information from it with more detail:

So I was playing in a game this past Saturday and all of the sudden my gun completely froze up. It wasn't in the middle of a burst or anything. It just happend right when I got a guy in my sights and pulled the trigger, nothing happend. This was after I shot maybe 1000 rounds through it with no problem. It locked up so bad I thought that there was absolutely no current running into the gun so naturaly I thought one of the wires on the motor came undone. So I opened the motor compartment and checked but the wires were fine. I closed it back up and the gun worked again... for another few rounds that is. And then it did it again, so I did the same thing a couple more times but it kept doing it so I stopped messing with it. Basically I could sqeeze off maybe 10 rounds at most and then the gun would freeze up. And I mean locked up tight. There gun wouldn't even make a noise when the trigger was pulled but I know it was locked up because the battery would get warm.

I have opened my gun and inspected it. I don't see anything really wrong with it. There is wear on the gears but nothing that would make the gun freeze up. I took everything out of it except the gears and spun them and they spin just fine, freely and smoothly. I opened the gun put the cylinder unit and piston in and turned the gears to see the contact between the sector gear and piston... seems fine. I looked at all the teeth fairly closely and they all look straight. I am puzzled as to what the heck happend.

Does anyone have any ideas? I know one major clue has to be that when I opend the motor compartment and then closed it I could get off some rounds, then it would lock up but if I opened it again it would fire again. This thing has me stumped. PLEASE HELP

i know a fare bit about electrics but not aegs

but to me it sounds like a short (if your gun has a breaker instead of a fuse i seen one installed on an electric paint ball gun that fired like an aeg) and when your opening your resetting

also it could be your grounding out before the fuse but i cant see that

my suggestion check all the wiring if its all good then it might actually be your drive unit

but before you do all that recharge your battery they do get hot when they are trying to power a drive unit but don't have enough left in em cause i know you turned it off to look in the drive unit area

just a few thoughts and things you can look into

exact same thing was happening to one of our guys ICS aks. he was playing with it and it just stopped dead not even a click when you pulled the trigger. we'd take it apart and look at it and everything was fine so back together it went. it lasted a maybe 50 rounds and did it again. turns out the motor adjustment was set too high at the factory adn was binding the motor. after adjsuting the screw it has been running fine. This may be your problem but it may not, jsut something to check out.

The gun is a TM M733 all it has is tightbore, m120, metal bushings and poly piston head with bearings.

If I wanted to take it to a proffesional I wouldnt be spending my time posting on forums. I dont learn anything about my gun by handing it over to someone else to fix everytime I have a problem. I was hoping that someone out there might have had a simillar experience and could tell me what to do.

Anyways, what I was hoping was exactly what happend! Problem is fixed now thanks to a member on this board that had seen the exact same problem. He PM'ed me the solution and was even able to guess what type of gun I had even tho I forgot to mention it.

If you're curious, it was due to some abrasions on the wire connectors that did not look like they could have an affect. No wire showing, no nothing, just looked like scratches. I taped it up and it now works fine. Thanks FNG!
