G&P M203 Problems w/ pics
I am having problems with myr M203 slide getting jammed up. There is a long steel square bar that sticks out from the barrel assembly part,
and it hits a steel tab that is apart of the push release that I am having troubles with. It hangs down maybe an 1/8th and gets caught up on the steel tab during use. If I hold the barrel tight against the upper part of the m203 there are no problems, but if it hangs down a little bit it gets jammed. If I use some muscle when closing the barrel it gets jammed real bad. I am trying to figure out how to go about fixing it. Replace the two spring rolled pins with something a little tighter, or a dowel, or some slightly over sized hardened drill rod? Has anyone else had a problem like this, and can sugest the best long term fix before I go ahead and start pulling the pins out? Thanks, |

Try taking the square piece out and just shaving a bit off with a file.

I dont remember where it came from Illusion, but you would probably not want it to be your old one since it came to me in this condition.

having much experience with loose catholic schols girls, your best bet is to change those pins and tighten it up.
either that or maby file down the spot were there is jamming. those seem plausible, or you could just sell it to me, i have a project that needs one like that :-D anyways good luck with it

First off, good post. Pics are always a nice touch. Luckly for you I just finished rebuilding/ remodeling Swatt13 's 203 for his Xm8. I ran into a fairly similar problem. One thing to check Is the main hinge pin that you have shown in the first pic, while it may be tight and seem to be in good condition you should take a look at it and see it there isn't some wear on the pin or the tab pivot hole. His had some slight wear that caused the main tab to then go off plain. if it the pivot hole in the tab thats wearing you could always drill it bigger and use a thin bushing or bearing that should get it back on plain. While you are checking the pin and pivot hole check the laching tab it's self to ensure some didn't bend it on you. Also as a side note all pins and screws should be snug on the 203 so if your going to be doing all this work to it you should check it out extensively and do it all in one shot. I went through swatt13 203 and was lucky what we tried works great IMHO I hope things work as well for you.
Again Great post and I hope what I have said helps. Good luck  blair |
