questions about military dog tags

I was looking around for some and found that they are just stamped out . I thought it wouldnt be hard to do that . My question is how much would you pay for the standard U.S. set . I saw 6 dollars plus for the personalised ones . Please dont flame too much im still kinda a n00b

if you didn't like your frist post you could have edit it. And if you look around (search botton) you can find a few ppl that make them already. You can ask them what it takes, how much time it takes and how much of a profit you can make.

I made my own set. I got the blank U.S. style tags at Forest City Surplus in London for around 2 bucks a set. I use a 1/8 " letter stamp set to punch them out. I find the hardest part is getting the lines straight. The punch set cost me about 8 bucks at Princess Auto.

6 dollars doesn't sound outrageous, providing that you are getting other items from that retailer and aren't paying an arm and a leg for shipping on those tags. I just can't justify spending 20 bucks on a set of dog tags that I can make myself.

Sometimes I was seeing two places selling the exact same product for two or three times as much as the cheaper . So in bulk it would cost alot to outfit a small group.( that was what I had in mind )

Depends on how small the group is :-P That's why i went with making my own. You could make a really cheap set out of aluminum sheet. Or not. If you have some metalworking skill, you should be able to punch out your own.

I've ordered hundreds of nametapes from them, and I've NEVER had any issues with them. I've not ordered tags, but given their history I wouldn't think twice about it.

$6 per set (includes silencers and chain) with 5 lines of text max 15 characters per line.

I've placed a couple of orders to JROTCdogtags.com, good service, never had any problems. $7.99(US) for a set (US style embossed, with chains and rubbers). They also do CF tags.

They also do pet tags and can do custom engraved tags (graphic, like a team logo)
