Backpacks w/ hydration system

Hey,

Im looking for a good backpack as stated on the title with a hydration system, probably 3L. I was looking at some of the camelbaks especially the HAWG cuz the mule is just way to small but the motherload is just way to big. But the only prob with the HAWG is i cant find any more OD or even ACU would work i think. Anyways what i need is a back pack that can hold enough but not as big as the issued rucksacks. As long as it can hold a few IMP, change of clothes (combats top/bottom, socks, shirts etc) should be fine. Are there any other well known brands like camelbak but carry CADPAT pattern backpacks?

Any opinion is greatly appreciated,
-BliTzKri3g

A lot of tactical backpacks now either have or has the capability to put a hydration pack in.

What you want is a 3-day pack that can accept a Camelback, such as the TAG 3-day pack (incidentally, I just purchased one from Farmboy and I'll highly reccomend his operation).

You want the hydration pack to be removeable, so you don't lose your water supply if you take your pack off. I use a 3 Litre Camelback Thermobak in the TAG pack, and pull it out to wear by itself when required.

i've got the camelbak motherlode and despite the name it's not really THAT huge. i use it every day, mostly for school. the pockets are very well laid out and designed and it feels like i can drag it behind a truck it's so well made (eagle makes camelbak gear, does it not?). the hydration compartment is very well insulated and i occasionally use it to hold my laptop . great bag, i'd recommend it any day.

FYI, Mules are no longer produced in OD, honestly, really stupid move on Camelbaks part, I now completely regret selling the one I had.

If you do not mind Hydrostorm as a company, try this

http://www.blackhawk.com/product_det...uct_id=4241&d=

It appears to be a MUEL equivalent from Hydrostorm.

Also, have you considered the MUEL in black? it makes it a much more dual purpose bag, great for school/regular life as well as airsofting.

I use the Maxpedition Condor II for everyday use (mostly school). It's a great bag, very comfortable and can carry quite a large load without you noticing it. It does have a concealed hydration pouch area (up to 3L). The bags only come in OD, Black, and Tan though, so no ACU or CADPAT. The main thing I like about the bag is it does seem to be built very well, good quality stitching etc. I don't see this bag falling apart on me like my other bags have.

Within Canada, you're looking at roughly $160 for this bag. Here is some more information on it:

I second this, but beware the size restraints on the hyration bladder "pocket". It won't fit the 3L Hyrdastorms(Blackhawk), but it will fit the Camelbak Hotshot 2L & 3L very nicely.

I've got a Spec-Ops Brand T.H.E. pack and I love it....it's really well built. I don't want to say indetructable, but pretty close. It's also got an inner yellow liner, so when you're digging for stuff in the bottom of your pack at 3 AM with a red-filtered flashlight it's REAL easy to find stuff. My only gripe is the lack of internal supports.

I also have one of the latest Guns and Ammo "Combat Tactics" magazines (Sept 2005). There's an article entitled "Dressed To Kill" that was a head-to-head comparison of Eagle, Spec-Ops, BDS Tactical (formerly SOTech) and CSM gear LBV's/Chest Rigs and packs. The T.H.E. won the packs category hands down.

Depends on the unit, I've seen some people use MARPAT,DPM, Woodland, but I'd stick with OD or CADPAT.

I highly recommend not getting anything in ACU, its not a good cam for the woods. Plus wearing kit in ACU, well it would really stand out an draw attention to yourself.

You still want all your kit to look Canadian'ish

I wear my multicam Drop Zone pack on Ex's all the time, never had any issue.

There are even those I've seen that wear civie pack with some "non-tactical" colors

If your in Markham, drop by Target Sports Center (link on my site) to check out the TAG and Drop Zone packs I carry.
