A&K -ACR (Masada) Mechbox Upgrade

For those who have been shopping for a suitable upgrade for their A&K ACR's trying to find out exactly which mechbox type they used. The shell is specifically an MP5 Version 2 mechbox, without the right sided guard (which is seen on some AK's) and suspended slot plate. It's also important to note that it's using an M4/M16 selector plate.

You need a longer Nozzle though, which is usually classified, specifically as the Masada Nozzles these days. Earlier before the Masada, was a long AK nozzle for certain brands with middle feeding magazines.

All the internals inside the shell are standard V2 parts, other than the Fire Select gear and Axle. However that's a standard MP5 part. The motor used is a common on M4's Which is the Standard motor "Long type." Rather than the short type, like the MP5.

I hope this clears the air on the A&K - ACR (Masada) and helps others find suitable upgrades for their guns. As those experienced, should see why this gun is so incredible, for finding parts to game with and replace .

Cheers, happy Airsofting.

It's a standard V2 mechbox, nothing more, nothing less, with a long nozzle.

MP5 specific mechbox will come with a MP5 selector plate, where the generic V2/M4 one will already have the correct selector plate installed.

Welcome back from the dead by the way, but you don't need to necro every post from 2011...

Standard means, it M4 ready so there is no selector gear with axle, Only a plate. Thus not allowing for a gear and axle to pass through.

I owned a standard V2 mechbox and the plates didn't match side to side for the selector gear and axle. Thus I had to drill. A V2 mechbox that's M4/M16 and MP5 compatible is exactly what you're after. Though this would be more standard IMO, since it can fit into many basic rifles. However it's not classified as standard. Though it "should" be, it's called an ambidextrous box.
