Is this summary of my weekends research correct?
KJW if you want reliability but does not use RS WE uses RS but not as reliable as the KJW G&P Higher quality than the WE but seems general consensus WA system is inferior? all of the above function like the real thing? last shot hold open and require a bolt release after inserting a fresh magazine? for the WE the old closed bolt is more reliable just doesn't look as real? If you want close to "1:1" get a ViperTech.
If you are on a budget and slowly progression upgrades, I would choose a WE. I've come to the conclusion that the bolt lock function on last shot all systems have issue on that which require some modification to fixed. (Based on KWA lm4 and we m4) |

Thank you for bringing that to my attention. I've only read one other person suggest it so I did not follow up. easily moved to the top of my list now.

The WE can be made very reliable, and the open bolt system is much better in my opinion since it kicks harder, more accurate, more realistic than the closed bolt. I pick the WE over KJW anyday. A basic WOC is fine but may be a bit finicky over time. The best I felt, used, and built are vipertech, hands down. No comparison.

we is great for the canadian market, parts support is pretty much established here, most retailers that carry the we gbbr will have we gbbr parts. WE is more accurate too with the vsr10 hop up and barrel system,
wa is good if you like throwing money in your gun, there is so much more to do to wa systems however they are wayyy more finicky, |

Everyone going on and on about WE's.
WE are a money sink. Part availability? Just email kjw and they send you a new part within the week for cheap. I got an entire new v2 bolt and buffer system for 45 dollars, with shipping included. WE is good if you GET a NON LEMON. Which is the majority of them. Be prepared to go out and buy an ass load of upgrades to replace your broken stock WE with. KJW on the other hand...Ive had mine for three years and all I have done is put in a new hop up, and inner barrel and its been good for all this time. The minor issues I did have were solved fairly easily by contacting KJW and asking for a new part. So KJW is the way to go if you just want a gun that works and are not interested in spending a bunch of money. Get a WE if you want a gun that you CAN spend money on and upgrade it like crazy aesthetically and what not. Get a ViperTech if you want the best.

VT are about $1-1,600 CDN depending on the model you want Hefty investment.
WE has a specific market in NA that is, they are very common, this is good for parts, and mag sharing amongst your team. I also like their concept that most of their GBBR can utlizes the same magazines, without buying new ones.. (M4, SCAR, L85, PDW). If I were to buy more then one GBBR, and was interested in those, I would go WE, since I have so many platforms my magazines can be used in. |

ehobyasia had a version for $570 I imagine a decent amount more after shipping taxes and conversion rate. not sure if they restock that model though. Can't seem to find anyone else who sells them. Hope that changes when I get AV'd. Figured a WE with a new BCG ,trigger group and what ever else is needed to make it reliable is starting to get close to that. |

vipertech's 2011 version is literally the only version to go when you do commit. vipertechs use a M249, VFC GBB hop up ( mp5, m4,416 ). the hop up rubber isnt that great

If the WE works out of the box, leave it alone until it breaks. Once you start the upgrades, you need to upgrade everything and even then may still need to tweak and tune until it works right. There are a number of threads around here that support this assertion (for WE).
