TM P90 Accessories
I'm new to airsoft and decided to make my first AEG the TM P90, however I am not sure which one to get for future accessorizing:
If I get the original version, I can buy the DTP full metal upper reciever and (hopefully?) I can switch the RDS over to the full metal upper reciever. HOWEVER, I am also looking to get the G&G full metal Triple RIS mount for the p90, but wouldn't that be exactly the same as if I were to have bought the TM P90 TR? Or does the TR only come with a single RIS? I am unsure as to what is compatable with what, does the Triple Rail mount replace the Full metal upper receiver, or can I have both installed? Do I lose my stock RDS and right side rail if I purchase the full metal upgrade? Should I buy the p90 TR instead of the Triple RIS mount? Are they one in the same? Or can i have both installed at the same time? If you have a customized/RIS p90 please help me out!!?? p.s. I also am not sure which silencer is best with the p90 (TM Knight Pro, US SOCOM, Full Auto Tracer unit, or MK23?) Any help is appreciated, thanks! G&G full metal upper receiver DTP full metal Triple RIS

If i were you i would get the TR. TR stands for triple rail. (three rails not one) You can put any scope/RDS you want. You can put lasers/flashlights on it, also it comes with a SOCOM silecner so you can put an extened inner barrel through it for midranged games. I dont think TM even makes the RDS version anymore. If you have the P90 TR i dont believe you would need the tripple rail mount. Plus, Tru has a P90 TR for sale for $470 instock.

I'd definatly go for the TR version.
You will have to buy some sort of reddot because there is no aiming device on it exept the dent in the RIS rail that serv as a last resort sights.

I got one of those RDS ones and I have to say the metal receiver is sweet! Makes everything tight and the gun just feels solid and more realistic feeling. I actually plan on getting the same thing you've got there the DTP rail on my next order.
The p90 rds fits both the metal and plastic receiver (not the TR one) if you plan on switching it around. but not in conjunction with the rail. (but you still have one on the other side (it comes with it) If you do get the DTP rail you will need to get new optics that mount on a 20mm rail as you can't use your original p90 one. oh and slight detail, the TR comes with a greyish body while the RDS one comes with a black body if it matters to you. The TR is definately easier and cheaper if you wanna go ahead to assessorize it... it comes with a silencer too. |

But the bottom line is i dont think you can get the RDS version (NEW) anymore.

Thanks for your suggestions guys!
Looks like I missed the boat on the stock RDS ... that was one of my main strongpoints for the original, +1 for the TR. But I just checked out a pic of the gray body that was mentioned, and I have no clue why TM choose that colour!! It doesn't look gray, so much so as "unpainted" . I guess with the stock RDS out of the picture, I no longer have to worry about the DTP TR not being compatable, so here's what I'm thinking: Maybe I could purchase the stock P90 (so I retain the black body), then upgrade it with the DTP triple RIS (so I get the functionality of the TR). However now my new concerns become this: Is the DTP triple RIS going to be flush colour (black) with the body? And can I buy the mk23 silencer in black (like the one that comes with the TR)? Failing the above, is there anyway (replacement bodies/spraypaint/etc) that, if I were to buy the TR, I could convert the body to black? Thanks for helping a newbie out! (accessorizing definately takes more delibiration than buying the gun itself!! ) p.s. since the TM stock RDS cannot be transfered to RIS, does it follow that no optical mounts can be applied to the p90's original A-Frame, without installing a top-mounted RIS first? also, any word if Tru (or anyone) has a p90 w/ original RDS for sale?

Rangers doesn't supply the metal upper receiver anymore. I think production was halted soon after TM stopped making P90 RDS'. That receiver is made by G&P not G&G.

Don't worry about the "gray" color, it's really not that gray in real.
If it still an anoyance to you, you could paint it flat black.

I'd camp around the buy sell section. *SOMEONE*'s gotta have a p90rds they'd wanna part with, sounds like you seem to favour that one more than the TR. (I know. i like my p90 rds dispite all the TR lovers out there. tracking down a p90 rds metal receiver will be the hard part.. it took quite a while to get a hold of mine.
and yes if you want to mount anything other than a standard p90 rds onto the RDS receiver, you need to get a rail first. |

Thanks for all your help!
Guess I'll get to lurking around for an orig p90 RDS... or maybe if I'm a good little boy one will magically show up in 2 months time... :xmas:

Two days later and I'm still hung up on the P90 TR vs the P90 decision. I strongly prefer the colour of the P90 over its TR counterpart, however I also enjoy the functionality of the triple RIS. My search for a compromise yielded some more advanced triple rail systems for the original P90. What I am hoping is to purchase an original P90 and install one of these rail systems to convert it into a P90 TR (with the desired black body). However I have no clue how, or even if, these TR systems will fit onto an original P90, or if they even look good. I was wondering, has anybody ever seen any of these installed? Do they look any good? Or am I better off taking my chances just buying a TR and hoping that I get used to its slight discolouration?
Here are the triple rail systems I've found: Systema P90 Triple Rail Mount DTP P90 Triple RIS And to lesser extents: Nitro P90 RIS First Rail System for P90 First P90 Rail System w/ Silencer Adapter please let me know if anyone has ever seen one of these installed and if it is any good! thanks!
