Type 97 RIS Dimensions

So recently a friend of mine got fed up with the high prices of RIS for Type 97 and decided to take measures into our own hands.

He has access to a 3D printer and we were wondering if anyone with a QBZ RIS has the specs so we can try 3D printing one.

Yes, it's going to be pretty shitty and yes, it's going to be a cheap plastic, but it'll hold out decently well until we can save up enough for a real one.

Anyone with measurements (even rough estimates would be better than nothing) would be very appreciated, as to the extent of my knowledge nobody in Calgary even owns a Type 97, let alone a T97 RIS.

Thanks in advance!

Do you mean the issued rail of Chinese Army/Marines or the T97NSR Flat Top Upper rail?

I mean the issued rail. The one that clamps around the handguard.

I know someone have it, but I don't know if he is willing to give you the dimension data so you can copy it. Plus he is on the other side of Canada...

If you 3D print one, you might be able to makea mold and cast stronger copies. If you need help with the design and 3D modeling I can give you a hand, I know my way around solidworks.

Should be around $300. There are airsoft copies but I would rather get an issued one for my type 97.
