Drum/Box Mag For APS UAR
I recently Purchased an APS UAR (http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?products_id=41551)
I was Wondering if anybody is aware of any Box or Drum mags that would be compatible with it. I've tried searching the web and the forums and had no luck finding an answer. It says that it is M4 Mag compatible, So theoretically there are a few options, Im kinda looking for a massive cap mag that will compensate for the High rate of fire upgrades i plan on doing. For example: Theres these guys here, (http://www.torontoairsoft.com/Echo1-...16_p_3326.html) But I don't think they will be able to fit, as it has that "wall" in front of the Mag "stem" if you will. However, Maybe These (http://www.torontoairsoft.com/ACM-M4...Mag_p_348.html) Will work. And while I'm at it does anyone know what rate of fire x/rps That most magazines start having feeding issues? as in not being able to keep up? sorry if the answers are buried somewhere deep in the web and I missed them. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Ben |

You won't be able to hold the gun properly... or almost at all with a drum mag, I've tried for the shits and giggles and it block you from reaching the pistol grip.

Beat me to it lol
Drums dont work on bullpups. The heck do you need a drum for anyway? Its not an LMG... |

Aside from the grip getting in the way: I have a drum mag like that first box mag (got it in a trade), and I can tell you that it won't even fit in that bullpup. The grooves around the insertion area of the mag, are fit for an AR magwell. The area round that bullpup's magwell is too thick to fit it.

You are better off with something like the electric/sound controlled Hero Arms double mag with 850 rounds

The hero arms mag might work. But change of plans. Ill use the uar as my indoor gun, and my soon to be heavily modified p90 as an outdoor one. Terminator kit + flashmag = hicap of death.

Hahaha, I do agree that they're incredibly ugly.
Trooper: Why do you want a hicap? Reloading is half the fun. |

Can't fix my own guns. Willing to fix yours.

my rifle has 21 round mags and I dont have ammo issues.... Highcaps are pretty ridiculous in the first place, and I do feel that if you need a highcap, its because you're not playing right... its not about just hosing BBs wherever you see an enemy
sorry but even an LMG cant shoot 1500 rounds without reloading, more like 100, if i want to do suppression fire, Ill grab my AKM, that has "high capacity" 40 round magazines and ill have way more ammo than I'll ever need seriously highcaps have no reason to exist but to piss me off, and to tell me where their owners are with their maraccas also, yes I've owned an LMG before (M249), and I gamed it using M4 midcaps, not the giant boxmag... but seriosuly, you can get 200+ round midcap with no winding and no rattle, why would you want a highcap? so you dont have to spend 1.5 seconds reloading at some point in your day?

As a "side quest" if you will. I'm wondering what rate of fire I will start having feeding issues at. I'm quite happy with my results, as troubleshooting various problem after problem i've become well acquainted with my gearbox. 20 RPS and i havent even installed the high speed gear set. Very curious to see what the double sector gear will do. Quote:
Edit: So After running into a few roadblocks, IE: one of my bushings Broke, I've done a few repairs and upgrades. I think I've got the hang of shimming now; threw a pair of super shooter 13:1 gears in the spare gearbox, coupled it with an Modify S100, keeping my A1 motor in there, and new reinforced, steel bushings. Go the P90 shooting about 25 RPS on the crono and roughly 350/360~ FPS. I've noticed that longer bursts on full auto the RPM slows down a tad, I'm guessing That the NiMh 9.6 1600MAH can't keep up with the A1's power draw, but I could be wrong. (any insight here would be appreciated) Additionally my externals are here: The Box magazine for the p90, a Ps90 barrel extension (with an M4 length 6.03 i have yet to install, Im waiting on a seperate hop up unit) and the extended rails for the front. The box mag doesn't fit very well, i have to take the upper reciever on/off to install it, and the rail unit will require some drilling to make it work. In conclusion, The "PLMG" as im calling it now Is well under way. Will keep you guys posted. Thanks, Ben Last edited by Trooper343; November 23rd, 2013 at 16:29.. Reason: Update Nov 23 |
