NVG Objective Lens Protection
I have a pair of NVGs that I need to protect the lens on. I was thinking of getting a pair of small scope covers, taking off the flip-up caps, and gluing on some plexiglass. Does this sound like it would give enough protection; will the plexy be strong enough? What have others done to their expensive pieces of novelty metal we call NV's??
Thanks, Brent

Check on the buy and sell board some people make polycarbonate lens (aka same material as balistic googles) to custom size. Just mesure the opening of your objective email them and the will make one for you. Much safer for your equipement.

Go to your local plastics retailer and ask for a scrap piece of 3/16's or 1/4 inch clear Lexan. Cut it into a circle that will fit over your objective lens, and you're set. It's incredibly simple to do.
