Where Can You Play Airsoft In Calgary?

Can someone tell me where you can play airsoft legally in calgary.

I heard you should let people know around you that your not handling real guns. So i am just wondering where can you play airsoft without letting people know your not handling real weapons.

Are canadians allowed to have metal airsoft guns or black airsoft guns?
And Can Canadians allowed to have CO2 Or GreenGas(Propane) airsoft guns?
Can you get arrested if you wave your gun in public?

Dude - sorry, but do more reading and less posting - this forum is filled throughout with all the answers to your questions in detail. Most of the above are pretty much common sense issues related to Airsoft replicas - if you have any common sense, you'd know the answers/potential consequences of waving something around in public that looks real, already.

Use the search function, and read, read, read. Even the newbie tank isn't the place for Spoon-feeding.

The two main airsoft groups based in and around Calgary are:
Joint Operations Calgary
and
Airsoft Calgary

I would personally recommend JOC, but thats just my opinion. Also, I would say reading all the Stickied threads above, as well as taking the time to get yourself age verified would be the two best things you could do for yourself as a new player.

Yes, you will get arrested for waving them around in public. Happened to a guy here last year. Your gun will be seized and you won't get it back.

You could also wind up shot and killed if you decide its a good idea to point said airsoft gun at an officer. Moral of the story, use your brain

Or you can end up like the guy from Brooks who got pulled over by the RCMP, and a long story short, got tazed twice.

it is legal to go play airsoft with like friends but in public you are taking a risk ... i personally have been taken down and had guns pointed at me by the cops because they thought they were real guns... theres no fine and its legal.... but not the best choice.... if you want better choices on play find some sort of company that holds airsoft in calgary... but most of them are just cash gras unless your 18 you cant join T.S.M an airsoft group that runs professionally but the others are to restricted or too expensive and T.S.M is very hard too get into to... you must be really good.

I assume your smart enough to know that though.

Stick with a larger group when starting. It allows you to see a wide variety of guns and tactics, as well as having people who will have been involved in the sport for quite some time. This is great for new players as it allows them to play along side these members and get a feel for how games should truly be played. The money to play goes toward things like field rentals, props, vehicles, and other things that add a bit more excitement/realism to the games. Some may view it as a money grab, thats fine, they can have their opinions, but to expect people to fork out their own money just so you can have fun is a bit selfish in my opinion.

The main airsoft groups in calgary are T.S.M.(Team shit magnets), J.O.C.(Joint oporations calgary), C.A.C(Coalition airsoft Calgary).

-i get your reasoning start with a larger group because thats what i tryed to do but for lots of people the options just are not there.......... i mean if your sixteen or over i think that joint oporations calgary is probably your best choice..... but again not every one can do that

In fact you can just go to lazer trek on wednesday at 7pm for indoor games hosted by C.A.C and if you arn't an idiot with a rifle, you will get a warm welcome from the community. That's what i did and now i am quite happy with my team. However, the minimum age is 16 with some exceptions if i remember correctly.

You know this cause it happened to you.

And don't go waving it in public they can take it, hell they can smash it, don't walk around with anything that looks like a gun.

When you do go to your first game. Remember a few things

Behave, Call your hits, and be respectful

this means shut up and pay attention during the briefing and be polite and say hi to players. It's awesome and you will enjoy the game, but remember its as much a social gathering as going to the bar!
