Sniper Rifles

Hey guys im gonna get straight to the point, im not new to airsoft have been playing for a few years now and ive decided its time to purchase a sniper rifle. I quite enjoy stalking thefield and "picking people off":P. Now basically ive been eyeing three different rifles and im just looking for some personal input on them, the Echo1 m28 really like this one, the vsr 10 ( not sure which company is better but ive been looking at the TM versions) and then the bar 10. any personal opinions on the three? i like then all i know the echo1 mags are a little flimsy but that doesent bother me too much as its a beatiful rifle> but ive heard awsome things about the vsr10 thanks a bunch.

I like the VSR10, it's simple, elegant and works in almost any condition. My teammate had one and it was pretty sweet. The fact that it could be any kind of weather and it works (thank you spring) is a huge benefit.

I have the TM VSR-10 pro version and I'm not disappointed. There's full of upgrade parts avalaible and they are quite easy to find.

TM is the original 'VSR-10', all of the other stuff is 'DRASTICALLY' lower in quality. Be warned if you chose to purchase a clone. Really not worth the money or stress.

If you like the look of the M28, i'd advise getting a Classic Army M24 instead. Its based off of the APS-2 system, which is tried and true as far as airsoft sniper rifles go. Much higher quality in build and overall feel. You will not be disappointed!

^And then take it to an indoor game :P

CA M24 or TM VSR would be your best choices for the standard bolt action rifle.

If you want something more unique, maybe an A&K SVD or Ares WA2000.

i have had both a ca m24 and tm vsr-10 i gotta say the vsr is like the ak-47 of airsoft sniper rifles. it got boring tho so i just recently got a new ca m24 and i enjoy tinkering and doing a faire bit of custom work so i like it a lot. if you want unique i'de get a ca m24 and do a lot of mods on it vsr's dont vary as much from pearson to pearson but with the rigth owner ca m24's can be either an amazing rifle or complete crap.

CA M24 or TM VSR10, although if money was a non issue a fully riced up APS2 with a full PDI component will be your ultimate, if not a CA M24 with PDI upgrades will do the job

ok this is great! im pretty muched narrowed down to the tm vsr10 or the cs m24 kinda leaning towards the ca for some reason i like the quality. Though i am kinda curious as to wildcards statement. wht companies produce sniper rifles with the aps2 system, i youtubed it and mostly got utg.

^The APS2 is actually a spring powered L96 type rifle made by Maruzen. All the other brands you see (UTG, Well etc) are clones. If you can find the original Maruzen rifle fully upped with the proper parts, you would have one killer rifle.

The primary APS-2 platforms is Maruzen, who initially designed it. (Aps2 rifles, think the 'Steyr Scout' from Counter Strike.) and Classic army, who based their rifle on that internal working. These are the best known platforms to take APS-2 parts.

As for the VSR-10, TM originated it and perfected it. Its a bit more complex in build than the APS-2 but once fully upgraded you can have one insane rifle. They're built to be light, quiet and incredibly accurate. And are already pretty formidable out of the box.

APS2 on the other hand is pretty much like the 'AK47' as the VSR is like the 'M16', CA and Maruzen APS-2's are built like tanks, weigh a heafty amount and can generally take a beating. While you can still make a really accurate platform with APS-2, the VSR can easily top its preformance with a good selection of upgrades.

It really depends if you want a gun that can take some punishment while still shoot nice, or a gun that'll be light, somewhat more fragile (VSR-10's are hollow, and the trigger sears have to be upgraded to withstand higher FPS springs. Even then they have a tendancy to wear them out over time. the CA M24's triggerbox is already 'pre upgraded so to speak) yet have the capability of delivering some awesome performance.

TM quality is what it is .

Look around the classifieds. Some retailers have them in stock as well.
