Sniper FPS in Ontario/ york Region

I just recently got a CA M24 and i was just wondering what the max FPS limit on a sniper rifle is? Also is it possible to have a sniper rifle with a higher power but use heavier BB's to make the fps lower but more accurate, or do they just test it with one type at a field? It also goes for like a Systema, they're really high fps but instead of changing the spring can you just use say a 0.30 BB to make it more accurate? thanks!

Depends of your local field.

Using a heavier BB to lower your FPS does not work/is not allowed. Our rules are based on energy output, not FPS directly. So using a heavier BB will lower your FPS but have the same energy.

No. Fps are measured with .20 bbs everywhere in Canada.
Going to .30 bb's might reduce the velocity but not the impact (joules)

they will just change the spring in the systema the whole cylender really, as for BA FPS 450 but not AV,d and unknown in the community prolly 400 like every body else at least for a lil bit then 450 then take a certification for higher, tho higher fps isnt really the point of a BA you have range even on lowwer fps like 350 to 400 and stealth.
id say try it out how it is for a while and see how you like it being a sniper isnt for everyone and 50 or 100 fps wont change it for u at all lol see how the gun works and then maybe get a new hop up and a tight bore thatll make more of a dif then fps and folks will be more likely to let u play as a sniper if its 400fps ish

400-450fps within the GTA is the max at most fields for non certified shooters (level1). Level 2 shooters have to attend and pass a certification course which shows that you understand the safety aspect and MED's of using a BA at up to 500fps. This course is encouraged not only for BA users but for everyone in general. There's also a level 3 course but there aren't many fields that can accommodate it.

Note: not all fields recognize the BA certification and some will have a hard limit of 400 - 450 fps

some fields can go higher than that as well. As coach said it really depends on the field, and if you want to have a MED of like 300 feet haha. I have seen guns shooting 400fps out range guns at 550 just because of a nicer barrel/hop up set up.... and the guy behind it.

Also don't cheap out on ammo. heavier is NOT always better but does help. I find .3g Straight brand BB's work perfect in my VSR. They shoot around 470fps. I am a known player around here I now my MED and I also have a field that is large enough to play like that on. Plus I carry a side arm when shit gets too close.

Thank you, and yeah i am wanting to put a fluted inner barrel, cylinder, maybe a new piston and the hop up. Also i have a Troy M7A1 CQB, i was thinking of just using that as my secondary since i dont have a pistol ATM, its small and also pretty light, would that be a good loadout for a field around here?

that I dunno. How ever I have used small AEG's for a back up as well. Mostly a p90. A pistol is nice for the smaller mags and quick draw if you really get in the thick. As a sniper you will find the more shit you carry the more noise you make in the bush and the more stuff to get caught on trees and shrubs. Plus it makes you a bigger profile while moving in the bush or prone.

Travel light, move silent. If you fire and miss don't fire another shot right away, never be where the enemy thinks you are. I love sniping mind games haha.
