Custom LaRue SBR

Experimented with some custom body and paint work with my bro's (PHLOUDER) KA Larue SBR. I tried to recreate the Larue Stealth upper's shell deflector. Was a bit of a fail IMO. Material was not easy to work with so I gave up half way Oh and ignore the battery wire ahahha

the deflector is just one step away from finishing, more putty and sanding, why did you leave it like that? what is it made of?

I'd use Tamiya Polyester putty to fill the crumples
the rough concave surface at the upper back of the deflector would be taken care of with no problem with a rotary tool

Yep I"ve tried the tamiya polyester putty.. it dries thinner than it should and cracks actually show up after it dries, and applying more on top will just break down what's underneath. It can only be used for filling tiny cracks. I opted to use magic steel instead to actually form the shape of the block.

If you really wanna try to fix that upper(IMO it looks good as-is), try some actual Bondo if you can get ahold of some. I know some guys that used to use it for modeling, and it worked great.

It's not so much the molding, it's more the removal of the original deflector and reshaping the angle of a 3D shape that bothers me haha.... Ya too lazy to deal with this one, maybe another time. Working on a lota projects.
