Receivers

So, I know that we can import any airsoft gun as long as it shoots over 430fps with .20s.
But are we still not allowed to import receivers? Has that changed along with the guns or is it still illegal to.

Receivers are the "replica" part of the gun, so it's still a no go.

You, as an individual, can't import either.

What's with all this talk about people importing guns from stores (I won't name them) because they shoot at a certain FPS. So it's just an exception for retailers now?
I thought it implied for regular people as well.

Since the firearms act in 1995
anyone can import, it's just the forum has a tendency to "support our retailer" despite the fact they're doing the same thing average joe can but charging twice as much.
Basically, they're importing under "Uncontrolled Firearms" where as the ones you need special permit are "replica"

that's discussed in the av section I believe

as far as receivers go, a receiver cannot fire a .20 bb at any fps so it cannot be imported.

Sorry wasn't that sure, so that's why I didn't name any names.
Thanks a lot for the responses though everyone.

I know the FAQ states that you cannot import Frames, receivers, and metal bodies.

Just wondering if this is changing though because I see that a certain retailer in TO is selling EBR M14 Conversion Kits?

Maybe one day we will have the same opportunities to buy airsoft as they do in the states? Would sure help stem the flow of illegal parts, guns, etc... that are coming across the border.

The kit would be a stock, not a receiver.
