COBRA CXR825C GMRS - Headset usage
I just got a COBRA CXR825C GMRS Two Way Radio, and am trying to figureout how to enable the use of headsets with it. I'm using an xBox 360 Headset/An actual Phone Headset, yet when I plug it in I hear nothing nor can the other radio hear what I'm saying.
Anyone know how to use a headset with this radio propperly? If so what headset do you use? |

May sound like a dumb question but are you sure the connections are the same? What type of connection is this radio?

cobra tends to be a non-standard connector forcing you to buy their accessories.
the pin out configuration is different than your headset |

just looked up the cxr825c manual that is found online.
the headset jack is also the charging jack so the pinout is different. the xbox headset is probably the standard Tip: Speaker; Ring: Microphone; Sleeve: Ground Quote:
actually, upon looking at some cobra headset plug, the ring is actually in a different position. Last edited by coach; August 2nd, 2010 at 15:32.. |

they call me Coach for a reason sometimes....
I'm guessing you want an over the ear boom mic but if you can use an inline, something like the GA-EBM2 should work: Amazon.com: Cobra GA-EB M2 Earbud and Compact Microphone: Electronics |

well, you're $80 without proper working earpieces vs. CT's $99.99 set that comes with 2 cobra earpieces that work with the unit.
