Modding an AFG

Hey guys. I'm Probably going to buy a Magpul AFG because I like the angle and the whole concept, but I dont like how you cant bring it back towards the magwell because of its size. So I was thinking of using a dremel to modify the grip by Cutting the rear part off as such:

cutting one the red lines

By doing this, the grip can thus be pulled closer to the magwell, and give us Airsofters that "Oh So Comfortable" Magwell grip that we like so much, while being ergonomic and well...look cool

Does anyone think this would be a good idea? problems? criticism?

I don't know how you hold a gun, but I think you will find that in that position, you will be very uncomfortable.

The AFG, when used forward on the gun, I find fat, and it's easier to just grab the handguard/rails with a stubby grip as a hand block.

The afg further back, will force your wrist / lower palm towards the ground, which for me: Is very uncomfortable.

Anyways, to each his own, just a heads up on what to expect.

These things are supposed to be used as far out on the gun as comfortable.

Just to clarify, I know doing this defeats the purpose of the "Magpul Theory". I just feel it would be more comfortable.

you can do that no problem with a Dremel.
I'd use a head that'll make chips rather than dust, and use a breathing mask for safety.
something like that

I'd sand the final result to make it smooth where it was cut.

Ill definitely keep you guys posted. When I get it in Ill post up some pics of the final product. Ill be using this with a SCAR, so hopefully I can get it cut to where it follows the angle of the magwell.

Personally I've never understood why people throw these on airsoft guns when the purpose for these is to retain control of the muzzle when firing a real steel gun that has significant recoil and muzzle rise. I've only fired a GBBR once and wasn't paying attention to details like muzzle rise (as I was too busy making sure my boner wasn't showing between my moans of orgasmic awesomeness from firing the thing) but on an AEG I think its just weird to have. Much like a 12x scope, in airsoft its essentially useless for its intended purpose.

Might be easier just use a hack saw and de-bur/clean up after....

Or you can just get a Magwell grip...
