Yea you can do that... it's fine as long as the + and - don't touch and you don't screw up the prong inside the battery connector..
I'm sure someone in your community will have an extra small male tamiya connector.. even if it's just a cut-off you can hook the clamps up to the little bit of extra wiring on the connector.. it'll be better than hooking the clamps directly into the battery's connector |

Did you get a cheap charger with the gun? I just took that and cut the end, soldered a deans on and BINGO! You can use the alligator clips but do it very carefully and in a safe place. I suggest connecting the negative, taping it with electrical tape then connect the posative. That way they cannot make contact and you can feel better about this rag-tag mashing of a connection.

Best solution is to install Dean's Ultra on your batteries and guns. They are incredibly better (enough to see a difference in ROF and duration), cheap and will solve your problems.

That's what I did before I upgraded to deans. Just make sure the connection is secure.

Hope you're not charging that battery at 5.6 amps... from the looks of it that's a G&G 1400 9.6V stick... 5.6 amps will destroy that thing, you should be charging at 1.4 amps maximum

There's plenty of online calculators for charging times and current for different types of battery. Google it up.
Also, even LiPos, you shouldn't charge at 5A, unless it's a 5000mAh battery. You should charge at 1C max. |
