pistol stands?

I noticed alot of people on ASC have alot of high-end race pistols...
I'm curious, how do you display the pistols? Do you put them on a pistol stand with mag attachment or just using generic L pistol stands? Or maybe no stand at all?

Would there be interest in a custom-made stand? with laser cut engravings which are under lit with led lights, it would have a neon-like underglow around the base and a mirror on the surface. Hard to explain, but something that seriously looks as badass as the pistols.

If so what would be a reasonable price? I'm gauging interest for this idea floating in my head...I noticed people spend alot of money on their guns but not much on display solutions...Im an Industrial design student and I see a potential market

Only Illusion, Hitman and Racingmanic are so vain as to need to display their pistols...the rest of us leave them in a case.

Just copy the commercially available ones...charge less than that. It's about $5-15 worth of materials...then it's just cutting/glueing/engraving work. DJbordie can engrave whatever you want.

haha I hope not....I'd hope to think alot of people would put up their pistols on a nice lit stand just as like....decoration or something. like putting up a few swords or model cars.

I was thinking actually some sort of spring pad thing on the "mag" so any pistol would fit snug. The typical ones are either boring L shapes or boring black base with a vertical stick that likely doesnt fit most pistols well. I want to make a work of art here :P

I'd display it but I have no room to do so...lol

As such I also keep them in cases.....sitting in my closet...

from the sounds of it, I'd already buy one at a decent price... wouldn't mind something fancy for my AEG's on the wall, either :P

from what I see everything anyone has as for as displaying airsoftor even real steel is REALLY lackluster. I tried to find something similar to what I'm going for but no luck. just plain black stuff..

For an aeg I was thinking a mirror base that spans the entire length of the rifle (custom length of course) almost like a ship model base if anyones seen those.

I just thought of this idea last night so I'm still really contemplating the market. I'm probably gonna make a prototype and see how people like it around here. Everything is custom ordered meaning size of base, colour of light, engravings etc. I have connections to a laser cutting place at school but thats about as far as professional production goes...I'm 19 after all...

Someone warn me if Im biting of more than i can chew as far as practicality goes...

I think if you could make 3-4 different models of stand, just have the customer specify which color light they want, and have the engravings optional/extra. This way you can produce 4 products, install the lighting/colors after the order, and also make a little extra for those who want the engravings. Very simple materials and electronics will allow you to charge a very reasonable price, as well.
